One of my favorite Authentic Taiwanese restaurant in the South Bay. 萬巒豬腳 was a must to order dish😁. 五經腸旺 was a bit salty for me, but acceptable, which was good for going with rice. 炸物拼盤 also reminds me 鹹酥雞小攤in Taiwan 😋😋😋.

The restaurant was very nice to help me to keep a birthday cake that I brought in for our event. Thanks a lot to the restaurant and the friendly staff. The staff also brought us dishes and forks for our cake to our table without our asking. So Taiwanese!! Thank you and love your service and kindness!❤️

A friend recommended this restaurant for having Hakka cuisine for dinner. We then ordered a few Hakka dishes and a couple of Taiwanese dishes as well. I was pleased with the style of cooking for the pig trotters (deboned) and the meat texture is great too. However, my best recommendation will be the all combination shaved ice dessert treat that definitely brought back memories of eating this type of dessert at my younger days. Service is good and the staff are helpful with our questions as well.

Taiwan Cafe is really delicious, offering many dishes that I wouldn't normally cook at home. While it might not be fully authentic, it definitely satisfies my cravings for Taiwanese food. The restaurant has a wide variety of options, and the portion sizes are generous. It's a place I’d visit occasionally. Highly recommended!

呢只猪手太靓咗~
Great food, great pork knuckle stew.
Like the warm family-like atmosphere that’s reminiscent of the living room of a rural household from Asian countries in the 80s. 10/10 would visit again with friends

Ordered basil fish slice, chicken fried rice and pig trotter. I like the chicken fried rice, it has nice fragance to it and good amount of chicken. Pig trotter is a little too cold and stiff for me and basil fish slice has way too much sodium. I find it hard to take a second piece. I've been to taiwan many times and I find the food here quite salty compared to taiwan.

This place is a hidden gem for authentic Taiwanese food! The moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere and the smell of delicious food made me feel right at home. I ordered the beef noodle soup and the pork belly buns, and both were incredible—flavorful, fresh, and packed with authentic taste. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable, which is always a plus. The staff was friendly and attentive, though the service was a bit slow, probably because it was busy. The only downside was that the place is pretty small, so finding a table during peak hours can be a challenge. Also, the parking situation wasn’t great, so I had to circle around for a bit. But honestly, the food more than made up for it. If you’re craving real Taiwanese flavors, this is the spot!

Very very nice Taiwanese cafe. The pig trotter has been deboned. The bamboo shoots and mustard is amazing. Definitely a great place if you like Chinese food.

It has been maybe years and the food is still as awesome.

Great Taiwaneese food.

Opinion Worth a Thought

Food tasted authentic and ingredients tasted fresh. Fast and friendly service - staff responded quickly to our requests for more tea, water, utensils, etc. Our food came out within a few minutes of ordering. Overall, a great place to try different Taiwanese dishes. I'll certainly bring out of town visitors here

Review solely for house special pork feet. Best pork feet in the Bay Area. They are boneless too, which I love. Being coming here for 15+years. Quality is consistent (which is so very hard to find this days) price keeps going up, but didn’t stop me from coming back😅. Still stopping by every few months to pick up pork feet after we moved. (One hour drive that is hold good they are)

While listening to KQED Forum show about Taiwanese restaurant , as mentioned by one of the guest, he claimed Milpitas has a large concentration of good Taiwan restaurant in the Bay Area.

Since I was in the area for work, I googled and picked Taiwan Café since it has a good rating with a proud sounding restaurant name. With no exaggeration, I would say it is the worst Chinese Food I have eaten living 35 years in the Bay Area. We have a large concentration of Asian restaurant here and have a good take of what is good or bad food . This one is outright bad. If this is what Taiwanese food is about, it was a total disappointment.

Based on the most reviewed item on the menu, I ordered the Pork Hock with Sour Bamboo. It is the most expensive entrée in the list and was told by my server as one of their most popular dish.
Since I wanted to experience the best on the menu, I ordered the Hock with Sour Bamboo. Also I was dining by myself and asked the wait staff how big was the serving. I was told its a big serving of pig leg and definetly i have to bring home the rest. When the it arrived, it was served in a small bowl with a very the tough meat . I had to dig deep and pushed through with the knife to break the meat. The meat had no flavor and looked like it was just a boiled leg just mixed with left over bamboo sour soup. I felt the food I was served without total respect for dining guest. It looked like was just assembled to pass as the dish I ordered. Maybe they think , I would take it as is and not notice the difference. In short, a non-knowing stupid guest. Totally felt, I was taken. It is bad experience and BAD restaurant. I will never be back.
