Super high quality and tasty goods! I’ve been seeing this bakery come to life over the last months and finally stopped in for a Carmel mocha coffee and truffle cake. Syrups are made from scratch and not super sweet. Love that!Kian is a fantastic pastry chef whom trained up in France. You can taste the quality and effort each bite. The quality and presentation is superb. Reminds me of bake shops in Europe! Most of the goods get sold out some come early!

This is a great place for delicious pastries. Small company, quiet inside, everything is freshly made into delicious. They try innovative new recipes for food and beverages, and their offerings Change which is fun! Their Cup of Joy latte is my favorite coffee drink. They are centrally located in Mission Viejo but are are not open every day, which is my only complaint!

The best pastries and bake goods in the OC area! I ordered everything from here and can’t get enough! Kian is the owner and chef/baker of the Diotima Bakehouse and he knocks it out of the park. This unique and small owned-business shop is exactly what’s needed in this Mission Viejo neighborhood and brings life back into this sleepy town! The atmosphere is amazing, the store is so clean and cozy, and the food is top notch! This isn’t a recommendation, this is a MUST GO! My family and I are now regulars here and can’t wait to come back all the time!

This is by far the most amazing and delicious bakehouse/bakery in the OC. Absolutely made with the best ingredients and so fresh! The owner Kian is so talented and exactly what the area needs to revamp its neighborhoods. You come in and can feel it's so clean and well managed, everyone is enjoying themselves, laughing, interacting with the staff and customers, and the service and ambience make you want to just stay in there all day and try everything! It's a MUST to come here and indulge!

Hidden (not so hidden) gem?! Chef Kian is a genius who isn't afraid of experimenting. Get there early or risk disappointment. I'll fight you for a croissant.

Great bakery! Kian is super nice and makes wonderful pastries. You can taste that each one is handmade. Kian always makes a point to talk to each one of the guests if they dine in. Come visit for a warm and friendly atmosphere and exceptional pastries!

This was our first time here. We absolutely loved it! We tried the pain au chocolat, coffee cake, and the absolutely delicious Kouign-amann with vanilla custard. We have a personal affinity to excellent and fresh vanilla custard. The experience here with the scrumptious pastries temporarily transported us back to Paris. We are definitely planning on coming back soon!

Finally found a bakery that is exquisite in South Orange County and is a gem for pastry aficionados. Their croissants are perfectly flaky on the outside and wonderfully buttery on the inside, offering a delightful melt-in-your-mouth experience with each bite. With a commitment to using high-quality ingredients. I can tell as i've been around pastries since the 70's. It's an art and creation is so unique and price is way better than other top bakeries in So OC.

Probably 4.5/5, but based on our experience this time, we had better pastries at Little France Bakery or Chaupain. It is a cute bakery and the staff seemed friendly. When we arrived, there was three members behind the counter--one taking order, one at the cashier, and one helping food prep. However, the ordering line was not very efficient. There were only two groups before us but it took about 20 minutes to get to us. This felt like the Cream Pan Tustin line when customers cannot see or think ahead of their order while waiting in line (if you are first-timer then you wouldn't know what they have until it is your turn to place the order). We ordered a chocolate almond croissant ($6.00), kouign amann-custard filled ($6.50), pain au chocolat ($4.00), and Nutella cruffin ($3.75). Nutella cruffin had the best tender crumb that resembles a good croissant. It is much more legit than Scratch Bakery Cafe. Pain au chocolat came with more chocolate pockets than expected and it was a very pleasant one (and price is very affordable). Chocolate almond croissant is an almond croissant with some chocolate chips, and it is the same price as the almond croissants. The owner did not go stingy with their filling, so it is quite hefty. I assume the frangipane was too thick/dense and it threatened the integrity of the laminated layers of the dough, so the croissant became tough and lost its signature. Kougin-amann is also another disappointment. Perhaps we should have gone with the one without vanilla custard filling, but I wanted to kill two birds. The custard was very runny, but the vanilla flavor was spot on. The caramelized coating was done well, but the layers were missing. I might give it another shot and choose the classics next time.
