diotima bakehouse Reviews
My partner and I stopped in this afternoon and got the best croissants and chocolate cake we've ever had. Definitely the best patisserie / bakery in Orange County. Stop by early for a wider selection because this place is -- for good reason -- extremely popular.
Honestly, this might be the tastiest pastry spot in SoCal. Everything tastes fresh, homemade, and perfectly balanced - not overly sweet, which I love.
The only problem? It’s 10 minutes from my place.
Fresh pastries + not-too-sweet + 10 minutes away = my diet’s worst enemy 😁

Their pastries are incredibly flavorful as well as beautiful! Staff is so friendly and nice and love this place! Better than some of the more acclaimed similar bakeries!

Diotima Bakehouse offers delicious pastries and high-quality goods made by a skilled pastry chef trained in France. The owner greets customers warmly, and the syrups are homemade and not too sweet. The bakery's offerings include innovative recipes that change regularly, such as the Cup of Joy latte. The pastries are super fresh, perfectly flaky, and have just the right amount of sweetness. Customers can really taste the quality and care put into each pastry, including favorites like the croissant, chocolate bread, custard-filled kouign amann, and basque cheesecake. The shop is small and quiet but can get crowded quickly because of its popularity and cozy, inviting vibe. Located centrally in Mission Viejo, the only downside is that they are not open every day. Visitors often find that the owner and staff love what they do and their community, making each visit special. Parking can be limited, and there might be a line, but the delicious pastries, cookies, and cakes are worth the wait. Popular items include the pain cookie, Korean salt bread, and mixed berry custard tart, with the pain cookie being a standout for many. Customers who enjoy pastries will find this bakery a must-visit, and many plan to return whenever they are in the area.
