This place is exactly what I expected it to be. Serviceable food, I'd say slightly better than average compared to other mall spots similar to it. The service was ok, but I wasn't expecting much going into it. I don't expect fine dining service at a spot like this, and I don't think anyone should. The food wasn't bad, that's all I wanted! :)

Salty overpriced chicken that they claim has teriyaki sauce on it when it's dry as a bone, and then they don't even give you any sauce when you ask for it.

This place is so rude and unprofessional they messed my order 4 times when I asked for half noodles and half rice and extra teriyaki chicken THEY would only give me full rice extra vegetables and light on the chicken. The lady would anyways give me dirty looks and attitude the cooks mostly the one in Black glasses he would be so rude and ignore you when you try to complain about your order. Their customer service is very bad they would charge you extra on food portions. I would not recommend eating here I hope management sees how they treat their customers and how their employees are disrespectful and would trash talk on people most of the time.

Been coming here for years. Customer service has always been terrible. The food is so good I cannot get enough of it but Please do something about the cashier and the workers making the food. Always so rude and disrespectful tossing things to the customers not appropriate.

Don't eat here when the cook with the glasses is on the grill. He doesn't add teriyaki sauce to anything and then gets mad when you ask him to add some on top.

I think one star is way to much credit for their employees HORRIBLE personalities / customer service!!!! The old lady taking my order kept rolling her eyes when I was ordering, the cooks can't even close ur box when ur food it ready much less call ur number they just assume we know when it's done. This is the worst service I've ever experienced! These people need a 101 class on basic customer service! WORST SERVICE EVER!!

The good - maybe other dishes, doubtful, but certainly not the chicken teriyaki special.The bad - chicken teriyaki special was too salty, too much white rice, hardly any veggies. The ugly - 1 lady taking orders, 1 cook & 3 guys standing around doing nothing like TSA agents at airports.
The Mexican lady cashier must either hate her job or actively trying to hurt the owners sales. I've been coming here for years. Since i work down the street. Always order the same exact thing. This time around. After ordering a beef teriyaki which the picture shows all noodles no rice with beef and veggies. I get my food and it's only rice. She tries to tell me that noodles are extra. I'm like I literally pointed to the picture and told you that's what I wanted. Then says no the picture is not accurate we need to charge you extra. I just asked for a refund instead.

This place is always inconsistent on the amount of chicken they give. I told the cook that the chicken was less than usual and he just ignored me. Their customer service is terrible. I’m going to think twice before I come here again.

It was my first time trying Sarku Japan and it is delicious! Got Chicken & Shrimp Plate.I didn't have this at my local mall growing up so I'm glad I tried it. I would definitely get it again. The plate I got was delicious, perfect balance of textures and flavors, had a good amount of meat. The chicken and shrimp were a good texture, soft, not overcooked. I like my vegetables so I liked that it came with a lot, I need that balance. It's a lot of food, I couldn't finish this by myself, could only eat maybe less than half of the plate, saved the rest for later and just as good. I think the fried rice here tastes better than the one from Panda Express but I still like Panda for everything else they offer. The fried rice here tastes similar to Benihana which is delicious.This one is located in the Dining Veranda at The Shops at Mission Viejo on the second floor. There's many free parking lots and structures for the mall so no issues finding parking. I like to park in the structures to shade my car. I think price is fair accounting for inflation, comes with a lot of food. Service is quick and friendly. There wasn't a much of a wait when I came here on a Monday around 3 PM, food comes out fast. There's a lot of open seating, the classic mall feeling. I don't have any complaints, not sure why this one has two and a half stars, probably some Karen's writing bad reviews.

I have been here a few times now. The experience has ALWAYS been the same.The food is really good. The chicken is very tasty. Delicious.The customer service is HORRIBLE. Every time I have gone, it's the same.One time a few of the workers were catcalling my wife. Really?!?!Tonight, the service was terrible. I never heard them call my number. As I went up and asked (mind you I speak Spanish), I asked if they called my number as it had been a while. The guy pointed to my order sitting on the counter. No words. No eye contact. Rude AF.
