Ordered the Jasmine Green Milk Tea via Uber Eats cause they had a BOGO deal. I asked for half sugar and no ice, and there was no issue there. However, the taste of this milk tea was very strange- had no hint of tea taste at all and it was very sweet still. Usually when I get half sugar for a milk tea, the taste of the tea becomes stronger but in this case, it tasted almost fruity/floral? Maybe it's their creamer? I had to dump the rest. Would not come back here.

This was such a cute find from the 'City of Monrovia,' which neighbors, the 'City of Arcadia.' I normally stick to supporting the 'City of Arcadia,' but due to all the five star reviews I browsed, I Yelped my way here to support them late night on March/27/24. I ordered the Royal Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Boba but upgraded to the Surprise cup because I wanted the plushy toy which I got 'Plushy Toast.' I'm definitely keeping the surprise paper cup because that was super cute too. I only drank 1/3 of the tea because was sharing the rest of it with my dad. With all the stuff I got, my order came out $9 something, but it was totally worth it due to these super cute souvenirs. These are such cute concepts making this Tea House super innovative. Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Value: 10/10. PS. They still give out frequent buyer cards. I'll be back!!!! They had me at Hello.

Finally got a chance to stop by this new boba store today. I got the Orea Brûlée Thai Milk tea half sweet and it tasted perfect! Will be coming back.

I only come here for the surprise cup. But seems the surprise cups are the same. Drinks are less than mediocre. Service is terrible. Extremely slow and the workers have no respect and are argumentative. I'm not looking for your excuses. Just make the drinks in the order they came in. Not that hard. But instead kept arguing back with me, telling me to have patience and understanding. I shouldn't have to wait 30mins for two simple teas. This place is always running out of items. You are better off going to benGong, oops, or even tastea. Drinks are extremely sweet and aren't made the way you asked for it to be made. Ordered a mountain oolong tea 50% sweet with rainbow jelly. what we got was milk tea. Don't bother with this place. It's a waste of your time and money.

One star I would explain let me get to it once I clear one thing that's good about this place. It's the surprise cup besides that Boba drink is a total failure. This is my second time and it will be my last time here. It was so sweet and they never have all the items in stock. Last time I got strawberry Matcha and it taste it as if it was rotten so I took a sip or two and threw it away, but kept a little goodie from the surprise cup and also this time I got a mango mango It was so sweet I could not even swallow. I end up trashing that also and keeping a little goody keychain. The service here is OK it's not excellent they're very slow so make sure you have lots of patience when you're ordering your drink places cute but I wish it was more cleaner. It looks like this Boba shop has been around for a long time, but I think they've been around for maybe less than a year or two. I would highly recommend other Boba shop if you're looking for a great Boba, but if you're looking for a cute cup with a little surprise in sight, don't expect too much.

Boba Friend is located in the same plaza as Baja Ranch Supermarket, 2 doors down from Noodle Star. This tea house took over the Uno Tea House location. My husband and I have been to Boba Friend a handful of times to take advantage of their happy hour, which is from 4- 8 pm, daily. Their happy hour is buy one, get a 2nd drink 50% off, but only selected drinks. Those drink include flavored green tea (mango, strawberry, passion fruit or lychee), brown sugar milk tea w/ boba, brown sugar milk w/ boba, chocolate milk w/ boba and Thia milk tea w/ boba. On my most recent trip, we ordered: Mango Green Tea with poppin boba- My husband got his drink to be made with 50% sweetener and no ice. My husband ordered this drink and thought it was fine. But he did not like the poppin boba, as the texture was similar to what he felt was plastic like and wouldn't order that again. Brown Sugar Milk Tea- I ordered this drink to be made with 25% sweetener since the boba is already sweetened and no ice. My drink came out at the right sweetness level for me (I normally order between 25-50% sweetness level at tea houses). --------------------------- (Total= $8.32 after tax and buy one get one half off happy hour special) As I have mentioned, we have been here a handful of times and I like that consistently the drinks have always been good. Boba Friend definitely knows how to make a good cup of milk and fruit tea. Service is always pretty quick, as wait time is not long at all. Service is also friendly. Will continue to come back as long as they have their daily happy hour special. Please note that if you wish to get their surprise cup (which is 24 oz), it cost an additional $3.95 (prior to tax). You can see what possible cute stuffed animal you could get, hanging on their wall when you first walk in.
