Girasol Cocina Mexicana

Came today around noon with my parents and to start off everything went well until our server misheard my order . When we corrected him that the item placed on our table was not what I asked he proceeded to ignore us for a bit of the service and give us an unwelcoming tone . We tried to pay and he wouldn’t even talk . I understand the pressure of working in a restaurant as a manager myself but the tone switch towards my parents was not appropriate at all.

I’m from San Diego and make the stop when I’m in LA. Such an amazing spot for Mexican brunch😍 love the chilaquiles torta😋😋

(THIS REVIEW IS STRICTLY FOR THEIR NEW BRUNCH BUFFET). I did not try their sit down restaurant menu. The brunch buffet is only available on Tuesdays from 10am - 2pm. Everything was delicious and looked appetizing. The best part of the buffet it has multiple items you can try like beef, pork, and chicken. The buffet looked very popular we had to wait for 40 minutes on the waitlist which you join there at the restaurant. The atmosphere was loud and family friendly. Their service was very polite, but we did have to call servers for refills and we even accidentally called a cleaner at some point (because we couldn't find a server). They also need to be a little faster at picking up used plates off tables. I did see some tables stacking used plates and eating on top of them.

Overall the food was great the service needs more work and the atmosphere was family friendly. I'll definitely be trying the buffet again.

I called in an order for my lunch break they say it would be 20 to 30m i waited 30ms just to make sure my order would be ready and to my surprise they never had my order. And my lumch break is over thanks alot.

Food in my opinion was mid based off other reviews expected so much more ESPECIALLY for the price. Wouldnt go again but the service was okay very nice and the atmosphere was very nice as well. The iced horchata cafe de olla was the only good part.

Went for the Tuesday all you can eat lunch. It has a small variety of things, but everything they had was excellent. The taquitos are filled with potatoes (I was surprised), but it was good, the meats were tender and flavorful, the sides were very good. There was a 40 min wait and right at 40 mins they called us in, the people (customers) were all friendly and orderly at the long table buffet line. The staff was nice, and the owner Jaime, was outstanding, kind, informative and very gracious. The rest of the staff was running around tending to the customers, the buffet, the wait line and doing the best they could.

Overall the food was good, the price is right, and the staff was nice. Works for me!! PS. they are going to expand and have a new larger place coming around March of 26, keep an eye out for that!!!!

Went in for my lunch break with my co-worker. We both ordered food but my food never was delivered. I flagged the young lady after more than 30 mins to express my frustration in only 1 person receiving their food. I asked her to just cancel since I had already stuffed myself with guac and juice but instead she still came with the food when my partner had already ate his and now he would sit in complete silence as I ate. I was questioned multiple times if I was sure that I didn’t want it to where I was forced to say just pack it up. Reheated food is not the same as fresh food so I was very hesitant to take it, but I took it and surprised I was still charged for it. No consideration for the horrible service or the fact that I would likely not eat it… very disappointed. Another thing that I noticed was the lack of customer service , there was a party waited to be greeted and seated but the staff did not acknowledge them and they walked off after about 20-30 mins of waiting at the door. I’m so saddened to experienced and also have witnessed what poor management and skills can cause.

Breakfast portions are big enough

the chilaquiles were flavorful but a little spicy

we went on a weekday so it wasn’t as busy

the pancake presentation was beautiful but they weren’t as good, the pancake crumbled quickly

overall it was a filling and yummy breakfast, but I wouldn’t order the pancakes again

would come back ✨

Daniella is one of the best waitress I've ever been served by. She makes our experience feel like we are truly family. Everyone is awesome but Shot Out to Daniella!!

If you have not had the chance to dine in at Girasol, I highly recommend it. The chicharon with guac is a must as a starter, make sure you get some of the spicy sauce. As for a recommendation for a meal, well you have to come in and try. We loved the chilaquiles, the carne en su juego, the menudo, and the breakfast burrito. If you have a sweeter taste, the French toast, the pancakes and the crepe are awesome. But as mentioned before, you just have to come in and try everything.

Best chilaquiles I've had in years. Antonio was amazing and very helpful. Everything was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend.
