Amazing Mexican restaurant in the heart of Monrovia. I had the chicken chipotle and it was amazing. Massive portion sizes here. Delicious food, reasonably priced, definitely recommend for those stopping through the cute small town of Monrovia. Service was friendly and quick. Atmosphere was very nice, we were the only ones inside for a while. There is a free parking lot right outside of the restaurant which was not full even during popular lunch hours! Let me start with the positives.Mexican style potatoes, rice, beans, and salsa.Great flavor on those sides.However, that's where the good flavors end... The lingering taste of rancid oil still comes to mind. I've been to smaller shops that keep fresh oil on circulation, but this was terrible.Maybe some people are used to the flavor, but it was definitely off.I had machaca con huevos and it was more of a scramble of just egg onion and shredded beef without much flavor...
The service was great. Ate outside on the sidewalk. Really nice with friends. Wonderful conversation. Ordered shredded beef with eggs, rice, and beans. Enjoyed it, nothing spectacular. Will go back to try something else. Eating outside is the real draw. Small restaurant, fills up fast.
