The worst “Mexican food” I’ve had. None of the dishes tasted good. The salsa for the chips was basically tomato and onion floating in water ( I had to add pepper, salt, and lemon just to make it taste alright) . The enchiladas were soggy. The beans tasted as if they were from the can and the rice was undercooked.At least service was prompt and friendly.

This was our go to for Mexican food for years. Apparently it has a new owner yet they kept the same menu. We ordered our usual favorites and it was subpar at best. The food was bland and my carne asada burrito was mostly beans with a few pieces of steak. Sad to say we're probably not going back. Miss the old owners.. our server was very attentive and sweet.

My wife and I recently went to Rudy's for an early lunch and we're very disappointed. Let me mention that we've been there before as we enjoy walking the old historic mall. We thought we'd give it a second chance, but it was a mistake . My wife ordered chicken taquitos combo plate and I ordered a burrito à la cart. Neither tasted fresh, you could taste the oil in her corn tortillas and my beef burrito couldn't be more bland. Now let's talk about the service,.... It was literally nonexistent.. despite the fact, the place was literally empty with the exception "one" table of 4,.. never once did they refill our coffee or water. In fact, I had to walk upfront and ask for the check,.. while the waiter just stood there, doing nothing but chatting away with another employee. Couldn't be bothered waiting on us and couldn't be bothered to bring us our check. Needless to say, we will never return and I wouldn't recommend it.

Hit and miss. Unfortunately the last 2 times I have been here have been major misses. It's hard to screw up an enchilda but they did. It was watery with grayish chicken and no sauce despite my request for sauce. The chile relleno was mushy, and the cheese was watery. Yes--the cheese was watery. My mother had the chile relleno and it was tough--how is that even possible? Service is also poor. Slow, with some meals arriving way before others and with many order mistakes. The chips are good though!

We came during a private event in the back area. Not sure if our food took a while to come out because of that or if this is the norm. The El Gigante Burrito was good. If you like spicy salsa order a side of the house picante salsa.

Lots of cool old white people in here and delicious food. The service was great. The food portions were awesome. The coffee was fantastic. The salsa was tasty. I’m coming back here every time I have to go to Monrovia! Thank you, Rudy!

Came here today and was served by Miguel! He was astoundingly good and was so eager to have a good time with us today!!! (Edit-- came here Saturday night with a buddy and we were treated so well by all of the staff! Jesse was great as always and we had a really nice waitress named Brittany who was really fun. I asked her to partake in an arm wrestling contest but she turned me down but she was a Wonderful waitress .Thanks so much Rudy's!!!!! Muchas gracias!...)Came here last night. FABULOUS service by our favorite waiter this gentleman with fabulous hair. The chicken and chorizo enchilada I had was soooo good!! BEYOND good. Can't wait to go back! Staffs are attentive and service is good. Our group liked the homemade nachos. Cocido soup has veggies & beef that made me full. Flavor is a bit lacking.

The best chicken fajitas! My family and I go to Rudy's almost every other week because we enjoy them so much. Rudy's is consistent, they give big portions and their chips and salsa are delicious, especially when they come out warm. It's nice that Rudy's is in Old Town Monrovia because it is a nice area to spend time. Both the indoor and outdoor seating at Rudy's are nice and the ambiance is inviting. Additionally, I have never had poor service. This is a nice spot for date night or family night.,

Great service, food and ambience. Rudy and Rosa often come by and visit for a few minutes with all the customers to make sure they are comfortable and satisfied. Love this place!

We went here for lunch since Peach Cafe had a 45 minute wait. There was almost no one at Rudy's and now I know why. We ordered machaca and it was burned and all dried out. Almost inedible. The service was good but food was terrible and we won't go back.
