Food was good. Atmosphere is acceptable. Old town monrovia good vibe. I don't like it when the sushi guys yell every time the door opens. I know this is common in sushi places, but is it really necessary? The background music was too loud and not to my liking.

August 2022 - Party of 3 on a Friday around 5 PM. No wait.Food/Pricing - Big Tuna Roll - $15.95 - Highly recommend! They use purple rice which is something I haven't seen before for sushi.Tonkatsu Ramen - $13.95 - On the lighter tasting side, not salty.Spicy Chashu Ramen - $15.95 - Yum! Not very spicy but just enough to have a little kick!Service/Ambiance - Friendly and prompt service!Parking - Street parking. There's also a few public parking lots nearby.

Came here Saturday and let me just say… they have the best service! The staff is so sweet and attentive. The food was wonderful. I had the chicken ramen since I am a picky eater and it was delicious. My mom and sister shared the baked lobster roll and a california roll. They enjoyed both! I would definitely recommend this place.

The tonkotsu ramen is good! A surprisingly smoky flavor. Rolls are nice as well.

Excellent experience.My server Conrad was very knowledgeable and helpful when I ordered.The sushi was amazing.Love the purple rice.Very clean restaurant, calming interior/vibe.

Half our food never got put in (bento boxes for the kids). After 45 minutes of waiting our server finally asked us to repeat the order, so we just said forget about it, we'll feed the kids somewhere else. No apology or anything, just said okay.

Be warned that this place NO LONGER DOES AYCE and a female staff worker that works there is incredibly rude. Also when we got there, there were only 4 parties sitting down and about 6 tables piled with plates that needed to be bussed. So instead of sitting towards the front of the house, we got whisked away to the back next to the storage area. Not great.

The fish was absolutely amazing! I'm visiting out of town and went on a whim because they're the only sushi restaurant open after 8pm in the area. Still thinking about the food even a day later ?✨
Food was bland, service was slow and didn't offer any of the basics of a normal sushi place. No sharable plates when the sushi arrived, no soy sauce or saucers offered. Bento boxes were mostly greens below the items to make them look bigger. Servers were very short with us and kind of rude. They also kept dropping and breaking plates the entire time we were here. Sub par at best

I arrived and was in slight distress because the name of the restaurant has changed from Sushi Kuni to Monrovia Ramen & Rolls.I went inside to ask just to be sure. The hostess confirmed and I sat down to eat.I noticed the sushi ? chef in the back preparing food and seemed like he has a new school vibe. I order a few rolls to startBaby Lobster - super goodVolcano - ExcellentPhiladelphia - Always the same goodnessTempura Philadelphia - Sweet with similar phili roll tasteChicken Ramen Bowl - Very goodSpicy Trio Poke Bowl - very good with a ton of saladThe chef seemed to make the sushi with a wonderful presentation and purple rice. I have to admit it was different but very tasty. Sushi rice is good but with different rice, it's a new school twist that I like. I would like to see more sushi rice options going forward but I like what this place is bringing to the table and like their style... The music here is also great. Il be back for more and next time with friends.
