How could it go from number 73 to 77 and skip me at 76? n u missed the bbq pork bun.
what a shame
Parking is horrible. You have to quickly turn in the parking lot off Garfield, but you have to go slow, or you will miss it the entrance. Order window is right on Garfield Blvd. On really busy days, they run out of food fast. Everything I have ordered has been delish. Just don't l like that they close by 5:30pm and you have to have cash. Food, price, and amount are 👍👍😁

Ordered pork shumai, shrimp hargow, steamed BBQ pork bun and custard tart. All very yummy and they aren't stingy with the dumpling sizes.
Whenever I'm in the area, this is my stop.

I saw this place while driving by and decided to give it a try.
Luckily, I had cash because that's all they take. I got the har gow, siu mai, rice wrap, turnip cake, and peking porkchop. Take out only. Some items were pricey.
They all tasted just okay. I've had better.
They have a small parking lot behind the business and also street parking for free.

A great place to get food to go if you have to take some food to a gathering or a office potluck. If you plan to take food to the park like I did, just remember that they don’t always give you utensils.

Cash only. Takeout orders. Order by filling in a paper slip menu (no issues with miscommunicated request). $11 yang chow fried rice good value.
I just had a bad experience with food from Dim Sum Express, but it was DUE TO MY OWN IGNORANCE. Here's what happened:
I made a large order of dim sum and took them home. When I bit into a Char Siu Bao I got a huge whiff of ammonia.
I assumed the food I bought was bad, and tossed $50 worth of Dim Sum in the trash.
It occurred to me that Chinese cooking sometimes contains Potassium Nitrate, and I wondered if maybe what I smelled was a decomposition product of KNO3. So I did some Googling.
What I discovered was that the making of Char Siu Bao requires Ammonium Bicarbonate (臭粉), a leavening agent that releases Ammonia!
So be aware that Dim Sum Express Char Siu Bao may be a little adventurous for diners who are accustomed to Chinese food that has been "toned down" for consumption by Westerners.
I think that the Ammonium Bicarbonate is ONLY used when making steamed bao, so you may order anything else without getting surprises.
By the way, Char Siu - Chinese red pork and Chinese Sausage both contain Potassium Nitrate, as do some other dishes. This is the actual cause of the headache and discomfort that most people ascribe to MSG (Monosodium Glutamate).
So, just passing along some things I learned today!

We drive past here weekly and noticed there were always people getting food. My wife and I thought it had to be good. Decided to check it out today.
Dim Sum Express is cash only and we had enough to try a few things.
We got Pork fried rice, chicken chow mein, crispy egg rolls, and pot stickers. Everything was good and the prices were not bad. Will definitely be back. I want to Tru the dumplings and BBQ pork buns next time.
