Awesome location and great views. As far as the food was concerned it was sub par and definitely not worth the outrageous price. Service was poor I was even charged for a beer I did not receive. Their are far more better places to eat in the Monterey area I do not recommend this place at all it was a huge let down.

Open table Works really well. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. I think our server's name was Damian; and he was attentive and very pleasant!! He is a great asset to the Chart House!! I had the salad bar, while my husband had the Prime Rib dinner. We decided to have an early dinner and it was ‘just right'! It was one of those nights when we really enjoyed our evening. Very nice!! Thank you, Damien!

We celebrated our anniversary here and asked for window seats overlooking Monterey Bay. They fulfilled our request and even had special menus printed acknowledging our anniversary! Mark, our server, was attentive without hovering and made excellent menu suggestions. Get the sweet and spicy halibut (chef's kiss!). They also have an extensive wine list. Finished the evening with their signature dessert, the hot lava cake. Yum!!! All in all, a wonderful place to celebrate.

Food was great! Steak was cooked perfectly and the fish dish was done very well. The dessert was especially good as was the Caesar salad. Great views over the water.

This was our first visit to the Chart House in Monterey. The food and drinks were tasty and well prepared. Our server Damian made great recommendations; he was friendly and professional. The view of the Bay from our table was spectacular; we enjoyed birds, otters and seals. We have been to several other Chart House restaurants over the years and the Monterey restaurant lived up to our expectations.

Some people talking in the bathroom about golf and taking their friends underwear just a little wired but the restaurant it self was amazing.

Went to Chart House for the first time for one of their wine pairing dinners for a work event. Great view of the water! The wine pairing was well done and it was great to have someone come around and tell us specifically about the wine. The organizer of the work event did not ask about dietary restrictions, so when I informed the staff that I was allergic to mushrooms and the person next to me was vegan, they immediately got on it and had other options for us to partake in like it was all already planned out, very impressive and we were thankful that they were able to accommodate. The braised short rib was amazing.Dietary restrictions: I’m allergic to mushrooms and they were able to immediately accommodate.

Great looking place. Service was on point. Unfortunately, food was only decent, especially for the price. The manhattan, though pricey, was the best I’ve ever had. The fluer de lis drink was also tasty. The salad bar had a lot of variety. Theclam chowder lacked flavor. The filet was medium well when we asked for medium and its flavor profile was lacking. The lobster tail seemed a tad overdone. The scampi shrimp was delicious. The potato soufflé was interesting. The lava cake was the best part of the meal.I would go back here for drinks and the ambiance and maybe the over priced salad bar (as an entree experience). Old Fisherman’s Grotto has this place beat in spades for the money. Go there.

We go for the salad bar and it was fresh and with lots of options, as always. I had the halibut - I appreciate that they offer different ways of cooking/preparation and they honored the requests we had. My husband also had fish (macadamia nut crusted ahi) and both of our meals were very good. We had a nice window seat and were able to watch the otters as well as see the moonrise. The restaurant was a bit busy (Sunday night), but our server was still available when we needed him. Chart House remains a reliable choice.

Always a good experience . Good service and consistently good food. However, there was one disappointment this time. While all the fish dishes were stellar and the filet minion received high praise, the roast chicken left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, the dish has been changed. The chicken was tough, with flabby skin and a gloopy sauce that felt greasy on the palate. Our waiter on the other hand was a charmer and made the evening enjoyable. Come again - avoid the chicken.
