After years of enjoying this restaurant,it became obvious with our last take home order that something has changed. Doing some deep diving we found out that Chong's has had a new owner, and it's obvious- The food was a total disappointment. $85.00 was disappointing. Several of the items were highly processed, and obviously commercially purchased. Not like the original owners where everything was handmade. Only one thing left to say- we will never go back!

We were given great service. Our food came out quickly and hot. The food was average but with that being said we finished everything we ordered :)

Had not been here in years. I should have known that seeing 2 people in a restaurant on Saturday night was a clue. Ordered eggs roll, to go. . Got home and they were gross. Threw them away.

Food was delicious... kind of pricey for the portion sizes, but everything was tasty! Will come back again next time in Monterey.

Yes, they have new owners for a year or so. I can only review the special noodle/won ton soup since this is my favorite dish here. I requested it with mushrooms and broccoli instead of bok choy, so you decide which you prefer. The broth is so good, it feeds 2 adults as the main meal. The interior is cleaner and the staff is friendly, especially Michelle who has worked here for years. If you want a good chicken noodle soup this is your place!

Tastes even better than I remembered. Chongs is what I compare all other Chinese food to. So delicious.
Lunch special is about $10-$12 per portion. It is a staple dish with white rice. You can also upgrade to fried rice for an additional price. The Kung Pao Chicken and Garlic Chicken are pretty good, but the sweet and sour chicken has a thicker coating.

We ordered the dinner for 2 for $18 per person. The only thing that was ok was the fried rice.

Food was terrible. I ordered the Chow Fun which was bland and I didn't realize it had some rotten bean sprouts / onions. I threw up twice an hour later from food poisoning. Never again.
