Lunch special is about $10-$12 per portion. It is a staple dish with white rice. You can also upgrade to fried rice for an additional price. The Kung Pao Chicken and Garlic Chicken are pretty good, but the sweet and sour chicken has a thicker coating.
This is truely a gem in downtown Monterey. Their lunch specials are a bargain at $10.95. So for 11 bucks, you get a complete Chinese meal, freshly prepared, with full table service. For MORE than 11 bucks, you can get NOT freshly prepared Chinese food at Panda, served by a insolent teenager over a cash register. You're also paying well over $11 these days for a burger meal at Habit or even McDonalds. I've been here several times and they have consistently exceeded my expectations....read full review

Yes, they have new owners for a year or so. I can only review the special noodle/won ton soup since this is my favorite dish here. I requested it with mushrooms and broccoli instead of bok choy, so you decide which you prefer. The broth is so good, it feeds 2 adults as the main meal. The interior is cleaner and the staff is friendly, especially Michelle who has worked here for years. If you want a good chicken noodle soup this is your place!
