Visiting from out of town and chose this place over Compagno’s and it did not disappoint. Meats and cheeses were sliced in front of me and were very fresh. Got the JRC2 and Muffaletta. Staff was friendly and respectful.

Wow, wow, wow! Coniglio Brothers is something truly special and knows exactly how to make an incredible sandwich.
My wife and I visited Monterey for our anniversary, and after spending some time walking along Cannery Row, we stumbled across this deli. We are so glad we did because it ended up being one of our favorite stops of the entire trip.
From the moment you walk in, you feel like you’ve stepped into a little piece of Italy. The deli is filled with authentic Italian market items, imported drinks and wines, homemade cannoli, and, most importantly, amazing sandwiches.
We’ve never been to a sandwich shop quite like this. In fact, we loved it so much that we ate here three times in four days! Yes, that’s a lot of bread, but it was absolutely worth it.
The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they recommended the No. 1 and the No. 8 sandwiches. Both were outstanding and packed with fresh, high-quality ingredients and incredible flavor.
We honestly can’t wait to come back to Monterey just so we can eat at Coniglio Brothers again. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop here. I highly, highly recommend it—you won’t be disappointed!

It took 40 minutes for them to make our turkey sandwich that we ordered in store and stood there, watching them make a large order beforehand, then somehow did not realize our sandwich was sitting on the counter for 10 minutes before they realized they had made a mistake, and tried to lie about it. Horrible service. The deli smelt bad too.

This deli is real good!
Wanted to update after reading other reviews. These sandwiches IMO had the perfect ratio of insides to the outsides anymore and the fillings would have been oozing out everywhere. We did get there on a weekday right before the lunch rush and they were very quick and polite. The cost of the sandwich was actually pretty inexpensive in my opinion $13.95 for a turkey sandwich and the muff was a buck or two more. I’m from Oregon and finding this kind of a delish sandwich is rare where we live. I definitely recommend. It is a deli. They make cold or lightly toasted sandwiches.

The worker who helped us was so nice but the pastrami sandwich was plain and bland. I should have known when I saw they were using Boar’s Head Deli Meat. Tasted like something I could have made at home. My brother also got a sandwich & he said it was awful. But I will give credit, good service & nice decor for the store that they were trying to make look like you took a trip to New York.

This little deli might take a bit longer to whip up your food, but trust me, it’s worth the wait. Everything is made fresh, with meats and cheeses sliced just right and bread that’s downright delicious. The sandwiches are creative and packed with authentic Italian flavors.
We stumbled in after spotting a sandwich that looked too good to pass up, and we definitely made the right choice. Every bite was a delight. If you're craving a real taste of Italy, you’ve got to check this place out!

We went there to get sandwiches for our all-day whale watching trip. I simply could not bring myself to pay $15 for their most basic sandwiches. (Or about $20 to $25 if you request your own sandwich ingredients.) 🙎

Got the Muffuletta and the Uncle Philly.
The sandwich was dry and the ratio of the bread to inner toppings isn’t great for the muffuletta—it was maybe 70% bread to 30% toppings. The bread is too dense. It was a disappointing sandwich for $17 (Uncle Philly was $15), but their store is very cute
—they sell a variety of italian goods like chips, pasta, etc. The staff there are nice too.

30 minutes and $17 plus tip for worst pastrami sandwich of my life. I asked them to heat it up so the cheese was at least melted, didn’t even do that. Just eat at the aquarium for this price, the food there is actually great.
