Stayed at the hotel abrego across the street so the Great Wall was the most convenient choice after our LONG drive from Ventura Co!! It was rather busy though they sat us fairly quickly, just to wait a Very long time to get an order taken!! It was also a rather bright room considering the time of night... when we finally got our order in the server was quite attentive after and the food was quite traditional and tasty so it was (maybe) worth the wait?!

BEST CHINESE FOOD IN MONTEREY COUNTY! We are from Santa Barbara and when we think of Monterey we think of The Great Wall restaurant and how we can't wait to go back! EVERYTHING is DELICIOUS! No matter what you order you won't be disappointed! Service is AMAZING and personal. Very family friendly environment! They even work hard to please your little ones if they're restless like ours. The value is also on point. Not too expensive considering the QUALITY of food that they serve. This will be your new favorite spot! 100% RECOMMENDED!

When I first walked in, I thought based on the decor, the food would be bad, as that it is wonderfully decorated. I was pleasantly surprised with some of the best Chinese food I've had in months. The Peking Duk was moist and freshly prepared. The Mongolian beef was just the right level of spiciness, and I finished every single little piece. The staff was courteous and quick and we had our lunch within 15 minutes. If I lived closer, I would definitely return on a weekly basis.

A friend and I decided to go to the Great Wall as it was suggested by a local in the area. I must say I was very impressed with the quality and flavor of their food. Every dish was amazing. The menu has endless options to choose from. We ordered the spare ribs, Mongolian beef/steamed rice, fried rice, and chicken wings for dinner, crab wontons, egg rolls, shrimp and potstickers for appetizers. Omg everything was just so delicious. These people know what they are doing! If you’re looking for good mandarin cuisine in the area this will be your go-to!

Overall a good experience. We tried couple of chicken items from their menu. Taste wise food was good. Soup was simple but tasty. The chicken buns, which we ordered separately were dry by itself so they went well with the soup.

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants around! The service is quick and awesome, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is great with beautiful views. The noodles are the best texture and thickness and every meat is cooked to perfection. This is my new go to restaurant and a great place to take the family. Highly recommended!

Don’t come here. They played traps on tips.We had lunch here and got overcharged. We order one mushroom bamboo beef ($17.8) and three ingredients seafood ($21.8) and two steamed rice(2*$2). So the subtotal should be 43.6, plus 9.25% tax so it should be 47.63.But when I checked out, the server did not show me the detailed receipt/invoice EVEN I REQUESTED, he only gave me one total receipt showing 55.07 which I thought that might include tips already. I asked him that did the price include tips, he said NO. So I signed additional 10 dollar tips on the bill. But right now I found I was fooled by him that I was double charged for tips WITHOUT noticing. Unfortunately I don’t think this kind of tipping trap can help you build a good fame. I have tried to contacted them through email but they never replied it, so obviously it’s not their first time to do so.
