“UPDATE 3.3.2026: we are BACK! Truth be told, we’ve been back multiple times 😅 But I finally took those pictures I always get too distracted to take. Little Korea has gotten EVEN BETTER than when I first wrote my review. Banchan side dishes remain authentic, the meat quality still so good, great beer and soju, and the hot foods STILL are a hit! We come for the bbq, but don’t sleep on the fried chicken. So moist and crunchy! I’m so so happy that more people are enjoying Little Korea. It’s my favorite restaurant in the area, and Mrs. Kim is just the sweetest. Shout out to the staff once again! Richard is the greatest!
Review from July 2025: Little Korea—you have my heart!!! This restaurant is amazing and a WONDERFUL addition to Monterey! I live and am originally born and raised in Los Angeles, so am spoiled by Koreatown LA galbi, but I now spend half of my time in Monterey for family, and boy are we EXCITED. This restaurant is BETTER than many AYCE Kbbq I have tried—plus there’s parking (a luxury in LA’s Ktown haha). We have been tracking the opening of Little Korea for years and couldn’t wait to try it during the first week of opening.
There are a few minor aspects of the restaurant that need to be ironed out, but for a restaurant’s first week of opening and with a limited staff for now, the operations were smooth and food even BETTER. There was a large variety of great quality AYCE meats—very lean cuts marinated so so well, all the banchan you can dream of, my favorite cheese corn, soup(!), fountain soda included, and fresh oranges for dessert?? My only regret was that I didn’t have enough tummy space to enjoy more katsu chicken cutlet (that’s right—there’s even prepared hot foods).
Additionally, our server Adrian MADE our experience. SO kind, attentive, and clearly cares about ensuring we have a great meal. He was always checking in and providing everything we needed, despite the packed restaurant for the dinner rush. Thank you, Adrian!! We hope we’ll always see you when we dine!
Little Korea, thank you for opening up your doors to our Monterey community. We will be BACK.
(I forgot to take pictures because I was busy EATING 😬)“
