Tonight we decided to try Rice & Roots. Boy was I glad we did. Hands down the best Phó ga I have ever had!! It was just the right temperature (very hot). The chicken was so tender and tasty. We also ordered veggie egg rolls. They were very delicious! Very crunchy, flaky and filled with so much flavor. After we enjoyed our meal Nikki came out and asked us about our experience which I gladly shared. She was so sweet and shared how she prepares the chicken. It was very nice to get to speak to her one on one. On my way out I decided to try a salted caramel cream coffee. It was definitely an experience in a cup!! I highly recommend this place. Not one regret on anything we ordered. The atmosphere was very inviting. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed. The staff is very nice and attentive.

Ordered through DoorDash at 7 pm last night, the app mentioned it would be ready at 7:30. Got there at 7:25 and had to wait until 8:10 to finally get our order. The hostess was proactive and nice to always check the kitchen on our order as they were really backed up.
Aside from the wait, the food was delicious!! And definitely worth the wait! I would have given them 5 stars but removed a star for the long wait.
It’s nice seeing a restaurant so popular where there’s a 45 min wait for a table.
Will definitely come back again and order directly since DoorDash had a huge up-charge for some of the entrees.

Such a lovely little spot! It’s very peaceful inside and the service was great. We got the pho tai and the one with the short rib, the broth was super aromatic and super yummy. The spring rolls were super refreshing and we also got the taro sticky rice and it was warm and perfectly sweet. Definitely recommend! :)

Omg. This is maybe the best pho I’ve ever had. My New Years hangover was instantly cured. Obviously a family owned business that pours love and intentionality into their food.

Very flavorful Vietnamese food in the heart of Old Monterey. We had to wait a long time before they could seat us but the food was worth the wait. It was also nice to see that they kept the place open way past 8pm closing time to accomodate every waiting customers.

Me and my family, a party of 4, went and put our name down at around 7pm and was told the wait is 20-25mins so we went back to our car to wait as there was no waiting area in the restaurant. After 30 mins we went back to the restaurant as we still hadn’t received a call. Only then after inquiring if our table is ready soon I was told by one of the employees (not the one who had me put my name down originally) that they are out of Pho and asked me if this changes anything and if I would like them to remove my name(i was dumbfounded cause this was the reason why we came there to eat…) and when I looked at the pad showing the wait list there were essentially the same amount of parties ahead of us. At this point I realized I was definitely lied to or information was withheld from me because there is no way they didnt know any earlier that they are going to be out of Pho. Also assuming this is not their first day working the guy who told me the wait is 20-25 mins should have known how long it usually takes no? The attitude from the guy worker was not apologetic at all, I appreciate the girl worker apologizing, but I feel the management/service here is not very organized & truthful with their customers. Or well I guess we were never and wont ever be their customer now.
