I love the staff and the vibe here. And the rotation of house DJs are excellent. Cover prices are minimal, if any depending on the night and the DJ that they are hosting. Craft cocktails and beers and seltzers all reasonably priced made by excellent mixologists like George, Trent,Jake, and Jam. And I always feel safe as the door guys Jesse and Matt keep the place at a chill level and treat all the locals like family. Kenny the owner also loves to spontaneously put out charcuterie or pasta or pizza free of charge during the week nights. The love for this place and the inclusion of this place for tourists and locals alike is so amazing! Sometimes on the weekends because this place is so amazing they can reach capacity easily, but sometimes the best places and people are worth waiting for, or maybe pre purchase your cover if available, show up early on weekends, or simply come during the week for the snacks and more chill week night vibe, as they still have a DJ Tuesdays- Sundays! If you gone or have gone before before sure to leave a review and show your love and appreciation for this place and the staff!

Compact Disco is one of my favorite places to go in Monterey County. I’m all about vibes and good energy and this place is it! The music is always on point. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend <3

Keep on seeing the owner say shame you left a one star review despite not actually going inside. Theres no bar for leaving a review - it requires three things: food, atmosphere, and staff.

Went on Saturday 06/28/2025 around 10pm after seeing a pride night posted on their Instagram account. It was my birthday and 6 of my friends and I came from a billiards hall, dressed appropriately and not at all drunk. We had been warned that this place asks for higher covers, so when we walked our way up to the front (no line, should've taken that as a red flag) and I handed the bouncer my ID, I asked him how much cover was.
He immediately took a condescending tone with me and said 'well actually we don't like the word cover here, we don't use that word.' So I continued to try to get a dollar amount out of him and he said 'it's actually a dj's birthday tonight so there's SO much talent in this venue right now.' He started pointing at people standing outside going 'that's a dj, that's a dj, that's a dj. There's just so much talent here at the moment so I'd recommend if you just want to get drunk for cheep to go to Cibos'. I promptly grabbed my ID and my friends and I walked away cuz ew.
The irony of it all? The friends involved are all my bandmates, and we are all very proficient and talented musicians. One of them is even also a DJ! As we walked away the group behind us asked why we left and the bouncer said 'Just some kids trying to get drunk for cheep'. My friends and I are all college graduates between the ages of 24 and 28, so I wouldn't call us kids trying to get drunk for cheap.
ANYWAYS if you've made it this far, hope you're convinced to not spend your money on a place with rude staff. Will not be returning any time soon which is a shame. Happy to spend my money wherever else I can 'get drunk for cheep'.

Came here with a friend and I loved the interior decor and how it’s set up. Music was omnipresent (super loud but the way it should be for a clubby feel). Unfortunately they have rules about no requests for the music and the entire thing is themed around strictly house music, which can be very repetitive. Not my personal favorite so we dipped after like an hour, but everything else was on point. Just personal preference.

I’m from NYC and am big into the nightlife there and was itching to dance while in town for work. I immediately felt welcomed by the staff, and taken in for the entire week I was there. I was shown THE best time and hospitality. I literally went every night. I wish I could transport this to NYC. Thank you guys so much for making my trip!!

Very attitudal bartenders. Cool vibe..small dance floor. Some locals celebrating. If they don't feel your local, they may be weird...might make a strong drink..might not. Luck of the draw!? Have fun in Monterey...bartender Jam..a complete failure..luckily the vibe made up for it because it was someone's birthday...people were still waiting for drinks....

$20 ea in Monterey what a bad idea we tried to reason with the bouncer who was very unprofessional, certainly not trying to get people into the place to spend more money. Instead ended up spending appx $500 next door at turn 12 awesome place with way friendlier staff

This place is set up to be a club. The bar looks nice. There is no drink menu so you just ask for whatever cocktail you desire. My wife and I were looking for a nightcap on a Tuesday night. The drinks were good.
