Beautiful spot on the water with great food and great service. We loved the food and cocktails and loved watching the otters play in the bay while we dined. Our waiter Aurelio was perfect and gave us good recommendations for after dinner as well.

This restaurant is our go to restaurant for breakfast when I'm Monterey. Great food and wonderful views. Usually the service is great but this visit disappointed. Hostess greeted us with a smile and made sure we had a table with a view. Our server and bussers not efficient at all. I had to get up to get refills on coffee and water on my own, had to get up to find someone to get me my check. No one came to clear our table. Table next to us was seated after us, got their order before us and were checked out and gone before us. Restaurant was not busy when we sat down and there were plenty staff

We had heard great things about this restaurant and since we were staying at the hotel we decided to try it. We started with the crab dip which was delicious. They made us a GF version without breadcrumbs and brought out GF bread for my husband. It was brothy a little, had a lot of flavor and was really good. Highly recommend it. When we checked into the hotel, the girl who helped us said the skirt steak was good. I ordered that and a baked pot. My husband had the scallops. The steak was so rubbery and fatty - I have no idea how they cooked it but it was gross. The potato was fine - it had lobster in it which was not necessary but it was fine. The waitress took the steak and asked if I wanted anything else. I ordered a Caesar salad. Never in my life have I had a Caesar salad that literally tasted like nothing. It had anchovies on top which at this point was just annoying and it wasn't even worth eating bc it just tasted like lettuce. The waitress understood and took both items from our bill. The scallops were underwhelming but fine. Nothing special. Views were nice and heat lamps were lovely. Food - not great.

We have been to Schooners many times. The Old Fashioned Drinks were great with one Rye based and the other Bourbon, The starters were exceptional as was the Scallops. It was topped off by watching the Sea Otters play in the kelp. Dean (server) was very helpful and pleasant.

One of my top 3 favorite restaurants now. My wife took me here for my birthday and the entire experience was awesome. The staff is extremely friendly, professional, and attentive. The food is worth the price too. Presentation is stellar and the taste is out of this world. Not to mention the atmosphere — nothing like quiet dining right on the bay! We will definitely be coming back.
