Simple things done well was the key to this dining experience. The dishes were relatively simple, comfortable options and everything was executed just right. Nothing under seasoned, every plate designed well and served without error. I highly recommend a visit!

Solid place to go with a big group - apparently it's haunted!
Good:
- The tagliatelle bolognese was really good and good portion sizes too!
- The ambiance is really nice and quiet for a deep catchup with friends
- The staff are really nice
- The ice cream with coconut milk here was so good! I just had a few
Bad:
The food and service took forever - we had to wait over 30 min to get the check
- Relatively expensive compared to other places in the area
Overall this was good for a longer leisurely dinner if you aren't in a rush! We escaped traffic back to SF afterwards.

Perhaps it was the day of the week, four of us visited for dinner on a Monday evening and it was very quiet. There were very few customers yet the hostess was ready to sit us next to a busy and noisy table until we asked to move elsewhere. Our server was prompt and courteous. It's not a robust menu, rather a typical selection of meat, chicken and fish, nothing outstanding. Two of our guests had a pasta dish, which was tasty. One guest had the Halibut, which was fine, but nothing unusual. I had a salad and tostada appetizer. Again, each dish was okay, nothing to rave about. In previous years we have visited on a Friday or Saturday night, which was much livelier.
Matty is such a personable and hospital human. Great experience and always keen on the small details.

Olivier was an amazing waiter and made our experience 5 stars. The food was delicious. We love this restaurant.
One of our favorite “date night” restaurants. We love the historic adobe building, the craft cocktails, the imaginative appetizers and the perfectly executed mains. The traditional pasta bolognese with homemade tagliatelle and Wagu filet mignon are two of our favorites. This place is a treasure.
After checking top rated restaurant's menus all day online to decide on one for dinner we settled on this one for the high rating and the appeal of the menu. We were glad to easily get a reservation but, now we believe there was a reason they had open availability because the food was not good at all. We ordered the crispy potatoes and shared and they were a 3ish out of 5 at the most. I could have, and have, made better at home. Then our entrees came out, in which we both ordered the Waygu steak meal. The only positive thing to mention is that the temperature was correct. Despite ordering the same thing, our meals tasted completely different. Mine steak tasted void of any seasoning and his was inconsistently seasoned from one bite to the next with one side having so much seasoning it was nearly inedible to the last bite which had no seasoning at all. His steak was tough to cut as his knife wasn't sharp and also not a steak knife. The artichokes were okish but better than the steak which is supposed to be the star of the meal. I didn't care for the honeynut squash puree. It was odd and didn't compliment the steak at all in my opinion. We both did finish it only because of the price and nothing else looked appealing to us on the menu. Originally we were going to order dessert but after dinner being such a disappointment we were not going to risk it. I do have to give credit where credit is due as our server, Olivier, was very good. He was friendly, quick, and we didn't have to wait on him to clear anything nor ask for anything as he already had everything taken care of without having to ask.

We had an excellent experience at Stokes Adobe. Our server was friendly and knowledgable about all of the dishes. We shared the market greens salad which was really well done and so tasty. Perfect for two people. And we also got the Otto's toasted sourdough, which was really good too. We both opted for the Halibut and it was fantastic. The fish was really moist and the soubise, pancetta, and fingerling potatoes were so good. One of the best halibut dishes I have had at a restaurant. I look forward to my next visit. Stokes Adobe is an absolute gem.

Food was excellent, our waitress was perfect. We went there to celebrate our anniversary and they were very aware of our special occasion and they made our night one to remember forever.

Amazing food, great service, delicious cocktails. It's great to see a local restaurant busy during the week. I always recommend this restaurant and it never disappoints.
We started in the patio for happy hour. It was wonderful with the fire pit, lovely music and attentive service. Proceeded to the dining room where we ordered the octopus, broccoli and cedar salad, tagliatelle bolognese, duck liver toast and the chicken. All beautifully presented and highlighted the chefs ability to deliver sublime flavor with simple ingredients. Service was again on point. A definite must visit when in Monterey

It was a good dinner but the menu was pretty limited. I prefer more choices of items on the menu on the restaurants that I frequent. Overall it was a good experience but they are too many good restaurants in the Monterey peninsula to visit before I go back to Stokes Adobe again.
The food was good but not great. Unfortunately I was expecting better.
I had the homemade pasta tagliatelle. The pasta had a good texture but not up to the quality of other homemade pastas I’ve had. The bolognese sauce was overly creamy, sticky thick, and lacking flavor. A nice meal but not meeting the standard I’d expect of restaurants like this.
