I usually only review places if I've gone multiple times, but this is an honorable mention since I don't live in Monterey and can't frequent here. But my one time experience here was nothing but positive. It was moderately busy and so we had to wait about 30 to 40 minutes to be seated, which was no big deal since we knew they were busy. Once we were seated the service was great. The service was quick and everyone was friendly. We sat at the bar and our food was given to us directly from the sushi Chef. Everything we had was delicious, including everything that was recommended to us. The sushi tasted good and had sizable portions. Sadly I don't have a photo of the menu and don't remember the names of the roll. Bottom line is the place was clean, service was good, and food was even better.

Not like these folks need any more positive reviews, but this place is fantastic! Great food, great crew. You will not be disappointed

This place has amazing food and the service is great, once we got in someone came to us immediately and gave us great suggestions. The chef Mike made us the Chef's special and it was the best roll I've ever had! Definitely recommend this place if you're a lover of sushi.

This place slapped hard. The food and the vibes were off the chart, Chef Mike was excellent and when you let him get creative and just let him do his thing, ask for the chef's special roll! If you are looking for dank food and strong drinks as well as a fun and inviting atmosphere this is the place to be. 10/10 will be back.

Found my go-to sushi joint here in Monterey! Maki fusion rollls are tasty, good rice so they don't fall apart when you pick them up. Quality ingredients and fresh. I cannot give a perfect score because I did have soggy seaweed on one of my hand rolls. But overall - by far the best sushi here in Monterey (not the Bay Area) but for the area. For those of debating on where to go here in Monterey between this place, Zum Susi or Crystal Fish - no brainer. Go here or I will eat my shoe.

This. This is the sushi you need. Great, fresh sushi combined with outstanding customer service. Not fake, pretentious, acting like they care service; they genuinely care and it shows. If you're lucky enough to see Hamachi collar on special do not hesitate...order it before it's gone...Devine!! It's a small spot so get there early or expect to wait.

great people, friendly, with original food, with basics like chicken teriyaki. small place but definetly worth any wait time.

Unforgettable experience. Very frendly stuff. Fresh and clean sushi. They have 4.7 rating on google for a reason. Try Mike's miso soup and Unagi deserts for sure ?

New to the area and trying to find our go-to sushi place. Sushi Fly was just ok. Nothing special about the food at all. Very commonplace menu and a tad more expensive than the other two places we've tried. It's not bad, but not great enough to go back when there are other options. The staff were really great though, which is why I'm giving them 4 stars and not 3.

Stopped by for a quick bite and some time with my wife. Our server Eris was welcoming and made sure we were taken care of. He was friendly and attentive, even got the heater working for us while we sat outside. Food was great.

Everything was spectacular. Would dine here on the regular if I were local. Loved my go-to shrimp tempura roll and all the nigiri was 5/5, especially the smoked salmon.

Disappointing response to customer service. Wish I could say more, food is good but when asked to correct for a mistake with our order, they said there was nothing they could do.

As a Celiac it was wonderful to find this Gem. Server and staff were very knowledgeable regarding my Gluten-free needs. Oh yeah, it was also delicious

The assorted sashimi sampler is absolutely fantastic. Flavor is top notch, and they nailed the presentation! Absolutely love this place, best sushi in Monterey!!

Awesome lunch special! It was only $17.99 for a roll, handroll, and miso soup, which is an amazing deal. Sushi Fly is a small sushi spot located in downtown Monterey, serving up fusion sushi rolls with fresh fish. It was about a 10-15 minute wait for my order placed around 12:30pm on a Friday. As part of my lunch special, I tried: [ -Annika (Maguro, Dungeness Crab, Cucumber, Avocado, Spicy Serrano Relish, Green Onion, Spicy Mayo, Togarashi, Tobiko): Yum- I liked the combination of tuna and crab, and the spicy mayo. Everything was really fresh- recommended! -Debbie's Dream (Sake, Avocado, Cilantro, Tobiko, Serranos, Topped w/Maguro, Hamachi, Spicy Mayo): Yum- a solid roll. I liked the combination of salmon, avocado, and serranos- recommended! It was really nice that they separated out the tobiko for take out orders, to preserve the fish eggs and keep the other items from getting soggy. I would come back to try other hand rolls and rolls for their lunch specials. Indoor dining is available, and I didn't see outdoor dining available at the time. Parking is usually ok to find, since there are a good amount of street parking spots in downtown.
