Absolutely obsessed with Wild Plum Cafe! I’m on a 10 day road trip through California with my boyfriend, and this was definitely one of the top meals of the whole trip! Delicious flavor in both of our meals, with super fresh and healthy ingredients. The vibe was super comfortable and the staff were very sweet and attentive! Wish I lived nearby to make this place a regular. Highly recommend!!!

Wild Plum is easily one of Monterey’s best spots for a high-quality, organic breakfast or lunch.

It’s a cozy, eco-conscious gem with plenty of great options for vegans. It can get busy on weekends, but the fresh, scratch-made food is well worth the wait!
We hade the Vegan Tofu Scramble
Vegan Tofu Veggie skillet ,Avocado toast and Began Breakfast burrito
The servings are big and very filling ! Definitely recommend!

Stay away from this cafe! The food is tasteless, the coffee is sickly sweet. They served watermelon with the pancakes instead of strawberries and berries, and half an hour after we left, our children threw up because of that watermelon! We came to Monterey to celebrate New Year's and stopped for breakfast at this cafe, but the holiday is ruined because we now have to find a dry cleaner to clean the car interior after eating there!

I hate to leave negative reviews, but felt this mornings experience warranted it. We ordered a couple food items as well as a couple drinks. When we went in to pick everything up the drinks were missing, no big deal, it happens. We tell the server, who told the barista. The barista then gave the server a ton of nasty attitude right in front of the whole cafe, and said our drinks were going to have to wait. The server looked pretty shocked by the outburst (and rightfully so), and asked us to come back to get the drinks. Okay, weird but sure. We come back ten minutes later, get the drinks. We get back to our place, and open our food and start to eat. I quickly realize my burrito which was marked as plant based (we haven’t had meat or dairy in over 8 years, eating it at this point would absolutely destroy our stomachs for the day), is full of regular eggs, cheese, and meat, this is after we verbally confirmed with them it was the plant based burrito. We called and they said yes they were aware of the mix up….. but they didn’t try to reach out to us. They were quick to give us a refund for the burito, but only after I asked for it. They did apologize, which is the only reason I didn’t give them only one star.

My wife’s order was made correctly, but had zero taste. The coffee was decent. And if anyone needs follow up on the stomach issue, I did indeed spend quite a bit of time in the restroom after.

This is the best breakfast spot in Monterey!! The service and food was exceptional! I never saw the bottom of my coffee mug because they would always come around to refill your coffee! I got the savory stack and it was delicious. Not many places can poach an egg as well as they did here! Also for the pancakes they bring out real maple syrup which is a big bonus. 10 out of 10

Taste wise the food is amazing very well seasoned and overall a delicious meal. You definitely get your moneys worth I would say even more, the portions are very big. The first time I went I ordered two food items and it was too much for me. The staff were very nice and welcoming. I would absolutely recommend this place to someone who is tired of overpriced mid breakfasts in Carmel.

Great atmosphere. Super cute breakfast spot. Latte was INCREDIBLE! The pastries we took home after breakfast were also amazing. Service left a little to be desired but didn’t impact the experience at all.

Very rude staff. This business does not prioritize customer service. We added our name to the waitlist for table of 3 and waited outside in the cold with a toddler and this establishment chose to seat multiple parties of two that added their name to the list after us rather than sit us. They could have easily put two of the two top tables together but chose to site two parties of two instead of us. Then they sat another party of two and keeled promising us that we would be next but then again sat another party of two before us. This is very disrespectful. If you have kids, I would just go to Denny’a next door.

I visited Plum Café for lunch and left feeling disappointed. When we arrived, the café was empty except for one couple who were already seated and enjoying their drinks. We were told to choose any table, which seemed like a great start. Things changed quickly after that.

Although we were the first guests seated, we were the last to receive menus. Our table was in a corner and it became clear that we were being overlooked. The couple who arrived before us already had drinks, which made sense, but guests who came in after us were greeted, served, and checked on long before anyone returned to our table. Once the café filled up, the service gap became impossible to miss. Every group that arrived during the rush was seated, helped, and given their food before us. We never received ours.

The drink service added to the frustration. We asked for water. Our glasses stayed empty through the entire visit while other tables received refills, new coffees, and steady attention. We waited about forty five minutes and never got anything more than water. When we noticed we had 10 minutes before we had to return back to work, we notified the staff and left with an empty stomach.

It felt embarrassing to sit unnoticed while the café grew busier and every other party was helped. I understand that service can get hectic, but the pattern was difficult to ignore. It was hard not to miss that certain guests received quick and friendly attention while we continued to wait without any updates. In the world we live in today, moments like this stand out.

I wanted to enjoy this café because the space is charming and the menu looked promising. Instead, we left feeling ignored and unwelcome. I hope this was an isolated experience, but it was disappointing enough that we may not return.

The best breakfast spot I’ve been to in over a year of traveling. The staff was so nice, the food was spot on, the coffee was delicious. What more do you need? I will be back on our way north next year.
