We showed up for dinner with a party of 6 on Friday night. They were closed with no sign explaining why. Just a locked door. We had called the day before and they said they would be open. Disappointing..

Overall, I'd give 3.5 stars but that's not possible. I know we're in a pandemic, but other than the freshness of the fish, we were not impressed. Service was just enough, but the food was almost ok. Our sushi came in a bizarre range of sizes, some pieces were thin, others the size of a brick in the same roll. The broiled fish was smaller than we've ever seen. The wakame salad was a different types of seaweed, which was fine but it was super chewy and thick. We opted out of eating it - and after living in Japan, we'll eat most seaweed. The nigiri was very fresh, but the cuts were small and jagged at times. It felt like a server was making sushi, not a sushi chef. Hopefully just a bad night..

We live in Morro Bay and had a craving for Japanese food. Harada is walking distance from our house and it has been awhile since we have gone. First off the food was fantastic. Probably one of the top ten pork tonkatsu outside of Japan I have had. Miso soap was great with loads of mushrooms and the right amount of Unami. Wife had gyoza and tempura and it came out piping hot. Overall a great meal and highly recommend if you come to Morro Bay.

Went there last night, people who came in behind us got there food before us. The waiter left our rice on an empty table across from us, and just walked a way. He brought our sushi which was ordered as an appetizer out after he brought our steaks. I really felt like they didn't want us here. I've been here one time years ago, and liked it so we came back this vacation. Never again. Worst service ever.

Very good food. Everything was delicious. I had the ginger pork. It was well seasoned and cooked tender. Also the teriyaki chicken is the best I've had in ages. And most importantly- this place gives a ton of veggies with the meal. Service was friendly and food service was fast. Overall a good experience. My fam and I will be going back.

We decided to try this place because Thursday night at 8pm in Morro Bay doesn't have many places open that were within walking distance of our hotel. I'm so glad we found this place. It was amazing!!! First, it was dark, romantic and decorated authentic Japanese styled. It is also on the a 2nd floor, I've walked by it a hundred times and never saw it before I looked for it. They have a sushi bar or tables. We opted for a table. I think we were the only ones there that evening. Our waiter was very nice and explained the dishes when I had a question. We were hungry so we ordered way too much food. But we ordered miso soup... delicious!! The Bay Roll sushi. It was huge!!! The Gyoza. This was so good... the dipping sauce was amazing too. We ordered the Sukiyaki with New York steak. I had no clue what this was, but it sounded good. They make it right at the table. They take a piece of the table off where there is a hole and they placed a hot fire plate there. They brought a super hot skillet bowl and Started to boil their "special sauce". Once the sauce boiled, they started added the vegetables and noodles. It smelled amazing!!! After that cooked for awhile, they put the New York steak strips in there. Cooked that for a bit and then it was ready!! It was so good. It can definitely serve 3-4 people. It was a lot!! This dish was so awesome!! And it's not served at many Japanese restaurants. I highly recommend it!! We had a lot left over but we ate it all the next day. It was delicious warmed up too!! I will definitely come back to this place.

Great tasting fresh sushi! The building captures the traditional Japanese dining essence. The most traditional Japanese dining experience in SLO County!

This was a great choice to take sushi to go. The menu was not to be found anywhere one line so I have posted it for you all! Since it's to go only it's very helpful. I asked for a special roll and they were more than happy to make it!! All the fish was fresh and overall a very good spot.

We had dinner here last night. Take out only, as is everything at the time of this writing. We had two rolls and two a la carte sushi. The food was very fresh, freshly prepared and flavorful.

I had an amazing lunch here. The wasabi and sushi was fresh, and staff very friendly. We will return soon!

Service was slow, portions were small, rolls were not as good as they used to be. May try 1 more time.

Visited on Saturday 10/24/2020, celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. Right off, we were surprised by the high prices, but willing to be amazed. We found the menu overwhelming (and we're experienced Japanese restaurant folks), so asked for the sushi menu. The (rather rude) server said they didn't have one; just tell him. That didn't work, as the idea was to to browse and consider our choices. Finally, I just ordered one of my favorites - a rainbow roll. When it arrived, it was gigantic - far to big to eat without it falling apart. When I asked to talk with the manager, I was directed to the sushi chef...and he literally could not have cared less about my issue. He suggested that next time, I ask for a small roll. Well, there won't be a next time. We love the area, so will just have to find another/different sushi place. This place is old, seats are uncomfortable with very thin cushions, and (as noted) the prices are ridiculously high.

This was definitely a tourist trap we fell into. Very limited sushi roll menu with more focus on hibachi type dinners. We ordered the chef's choice sashimi/sushi combo and all the fish tasted the same - very fishy. I ordered a salmon skin hand roll and got raw salmon with just rice, no cucumber, carrots, sprouts. Also ordered the Pork Ginger dinner which was fine but tasted more like Chinese take-out than a sushi spot.
