Best Mexican food in Mount Shasta. Homemade tortillas were a nice touch. The salsas are authentic and freshly made in house. So good!

As of March 2023, La Perla has the best Mexican food in Mt Shasta City. The street tacos are simple, but on-point with handmade tortillas. The birria is tasty and enchiladas are hot and made with enchilada sauce from scratch (not a can).Parking: Only room for a handful of cars, but you can park down the street

Cost close to 25 $ for three little tacos. Meat needs some flavor and a hotter grill.I am from the vally, and the worst taco truck is better than this place. Worst Mexican food I can remember eating.

My partner and I wanted a quick and delicious dinner with the kids after a long day of snow sledding. Tried two other places in downtown Shasta but both were packed and we did not want to wait - glad we did not! La Perla is adjacent to a bar and has an old school vibe. The decor is diner-esque but interesting. They offer self-serve chips, salsa and soft drinks (the latter for a price). Food portions are generous and very tasty, we all loved our food. My partner had a jalapeño margarita which was extraordinary. Cherry on top was our amazing server - she was extremely nice, prompt and accommodating. A pleasure all around. Highly recommended!

Great food and service. Best margaritas and chips and salsa in town. Always get the la crema and it's always a hit.

Service was great but the food was horrible. I don't recommend but the drinks were good. Hopefully they get a better cook.

Excellent authentic Mexican food! I'm surprised there aren't more reviews for this terrific restaurant. The food was delish (esp. the handmade tortillas, carnitas, and chorizo), the service was friendly and fast, and the endless chips and salsa (very flavorful) was a great bonus!

Found this place on yelp and so glad we did. The salsa and chip bar was an added bonus! My husband got the Birria and it was everything we expected and more. I went for the flautas, they were crispy and perfect. Our boys especially enjoyed the decor and thought they were in the coco movie. Stop here if you're ever in town.

A friendly, welcoming staff and warm environment with flavorful Mexican food. I have yet to try many dishes, the street tacos and whole beans are delicious!

Cute place, excellent food with terrific spices. My husband had the combination fajitas and I had shrimp tacos. He definitely won. Server was kind and helpful, meal was served promptly. Would stop again for sure!
