This is a great bakery with amazing scones and much more. The sourdough and other types of bread are also very good and you can get them from either the bakery directly or the nearby grocery store. If you are only planning to get 1 thing, try the blueberry scone :)

We had delicious scones and pour over coffee. Take a break from the highway or stop here before you hit the road - one scone goes a long way! New owner as of 9 months ago.

I purchased The Oven Bakery multi seed dough bread at Berryvale Grocery. It is the best tasting sourdough I have ever ingested! The texture is spot-on with a nice chewiness to it and the flavor is perfection. Heavenly.I wish I could order this online !

You cannot make a better cherry or apple turnover. I think I’m a pretty good judge I’ve been to a lot of countries and it’s good to know right in my own backyard is the best bakery on Earth. There’s something about that oven and dedicated owners. I’d show you a photo of the turnovers but I ate them.

We passed by on a Thursday at 10am and a sign in the window said "Sold Out, come back at 2pm for hot bread". I called at 1:30 and a nice man (I was expecting a mean man because of these reviews, but nope! Nice man!) shared what he'd have available at 2 and that he'd have more variety in the morning. So we decided to go back in the morning and got there at 8am. The almond croissant was ginormous and delicious. We bought a loaf of bread. Jalapeño and cheddar bagels, and a blueberry scone. All were very good. There were two ladies serving us. Again, no one was rude. Go figure!

Got a cheddar jalapeño scone this morning. Chalky brandish. 4.50 wasted

What a blessing! Gratitude to the hands who created this amazing bread ???

Awful place! Paid $12 for two almond croissants that were old, stale and hard. Had to throw them away. The counter guy appeared to be in a bad mood. Not even a chair to seat down and no tea. If you're in Mount Shasta, avoid this place like the plague!

Really delicious pastries and good pour-over coffee.

If you're the only bread bakery in town, you can set your own rules. Good for the owner, less good for her customers. Weird hours, not very friendly staff. I had a scone ($4.50) and a plain croissant ($5.00, yes $5.00!). The scone was average, though large. The croissant was also large, but seemed to lack any butter. All bread, no butter. I can get a vastly better croissant at Trader Joe's ($1.10). While the croissants ($0.60) at Costco are nothing special, they still are better than at The Oven Bakery. Croissants are what I judge a bakery by, if they offer croissants. All sorts of frippery is fine and good, if you get the basics right, but if you don't, you should go back to baker school. Pretty sad if the local baker can't match the quality at Costco.

We loved their scones and beard. It was wonderful to find such a great bakery when passing through Mount Shasta.
