Good food, nice services. A good place to visit for an Italian fix. City of Mountain View made it nice for people to enjoy a nice outdoor meal under a pleasant summer evening.

Enjoyed their outdoor sitting during these covid times. The waiting staff was attentive to our needs, except maybe towards the end while getting our bill. Salmon special was a good, healthy dish. Crab cakes were delicious and well-presented. Desserts were yummy. They helped us select good wines too.

My family has eaten multiple times at La Fontaine, and we have always enjoyed the delectable food and exceptional service! Our experience continues to be just as impressive when ordering take-out. Even though we picked up the food and drove for 30 minutes before we ate, everything was still absolutely delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the Calamari Fritti, Appetizer for Two (bruschetta, caprese, prosciutto melone & beet salad), Duck Breast, Beef Wellington, Cordon Blue, Mushroom Truffle Ravioli, Gnocchi, Pomme Frittes and Tiramisu. Everything we had was amazing, from the tender meats to the fresh vegetables to the perfect seasonings. The online ordering and contactless pick-up process was very smooth. I was especially impressed with the customer service, because we forgot to check if my son's dish had any nuts (since he's allergic); even though we called during prime dinner hours, they immediately answered, completely remembered our order and were able to address our request. We plan to return soon!

The restaurant has an attractive interior and it would be very good for a date night! The service was friendly and attentive. I tried the Seafood Pappardelle. The pasta was fresh and homemade. The seafood was exceptionally fresh, perfectly cooked, and very hot (temperature). The sauce was very good and and the dish had a very good peppery under tone. The dish was balanced and had a feeling of being passed down from mamma. My friend very much enjoyed her Pistachio Crusted Sole - on the daily special. It was a very good dining experience and recommended!!

We had not booked and the restaurant had good ratings and was busy but thy were able to get us a table for 2. As a starter we shared a portion of roasted potatoes and a portion of Brussel sprouts. Really very good and well flavored. For the main course we had lamb chops (really a rack of lamb) which was delicious and in a fig reduction. Highly recommended. The fish special was a salmon dish with scollops which was also very good. As driving we sadly had to skip the wine and consequently the meal was very resonably priced. The wait staff were great. Didum (I think that is how she spelt her name) was excellent, efficient and very helpful/friendly. Also one of the support servers, Ilhan, was super friendly and helpful. Both servers were from Turkey (Istanbul) and as I have been there many times we chatted about that and about Turkish food in general. In Castro Street there are not many restaurants that have a good rating and La Fontaine was the highest and certainly worth the visit.

My husand, a friend, and I had dinner here for the second time and again, were very pleased with both the food and the excellent service. We were seated promptly and were presented with a menu that included several wonderful specials-something to please everyone! The bouillabaisse and both Wellingtons (choice of salmon or beef) were especially tasty. Although the restaurant was busy, we could have conversations without having to raise our voices.

My wife and I were staying in Mountain View prior to a visit to Stanford Medical Center the next day. Downtown Mountain View is loaded with very nice restaurants and we decided to try La Fontaine by chance. We were immediately seated by the very friendly staff. We shared the mixed salad with arugula and pine nuts which was delicious. My wife had the sea bass special and I had the shrimp and pasta dish. Both were excellent choices! For desert we had a wonderful crème brulee. For wine we had the house chardonnay which was very nice. The seating is comfortable and not too crowded and the staff is attentive and friendly. We were very pleased and we will certainly return.

The sole for lunch was excellent. Good quality fish cooked in a superb and tasty sauce of lemons, wine, capers and more. Tender and perfect ($21 April 2019). The sides of risotto and sautéed spinach were OK to medium; nothing to write home about. But the sole was so fantastic that I can overlook the mediocre side dishes. The waitress was attentive and helpful. It was a pleasant warm day so I sat outside and it was lovely. They have a lot of outdoor tables, a few trees, plus large umbrellas overhead to block direct sunlight. I did look inside – the interior is quite attractive. La Fontaine played soft pleasant background music that would not interfere with conversation. Plus they have an attractive bar setting.

We came here around 5:30 before a Theatreworks show. The staff was warm and welcoming and very well trained. We had drinks, appetizers and main course and had a nice leisurely meal and were able to walk the few blocks up Castro to the theatre for a 7:30 show. They feature both French and Italian cuisine but based on our meals, I think the better bet here is the pasta. I had chicken paillaird which was a little dry and bland, but my husband and friend both had pasta dishes and ate every bite and were wiping the bowls with bread to get the last bit of sauce. The service is very professional and friendly, but not intrusive. This is a very charming place!

La Fontaine Restaurant is a comfortable, modern and clean restaurant on Castro Street. We arrived about 15 minutes early for our 7:30 PM reservation but were immediately seated. Service is very good and efficient. Food is well prepared and presented with very good taste to go along with an adequate sized wine selection, We intend to return to try more of their menu offerings.
