I ordered a wide variety of assortments for an event, and I must say, the presentation is quite impressive. However, the taste is lacking, but it’s sweet. I prefer ordering non-pudding bakery items and savory options from this place. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming, and although I don’t usually hang out here, I usually order and leave with my goodies. Just be prepared for a crowded place during the weekends.
We visited on a Sunday evening when most pastries were already sold out, but we managed to grab a pain au chocolat and a butter croissant. Both were delicious.

Alexander's Patisserie is a charming and fashionable bakery, known for its delicious pastries and beautiful, delicate desserts. The spacious interior allows for both take-out and dine-in options, offering a relaxed yet elegant escape from the busy street. Among their offerings are the popular flat croissants, which receive high praise for their crispness and flakiness, particularly the hazelnut variety with its delightful sweetness and hazelnut pieces. The strawberry glaze on the strawberry flat croissant, however, is considered a bit too sweet by some.
The bakery also features exceptional desserts like the pistachio layered pastry—rich, not too sweet, and full of texture—as well as the Tiramisu and Petit Getaux (harmony), which are described as exceptional. The light mousse texture of their pastries adds a smooth and elegant touch. While the ham and cheese croissant is good but not exceptional, and the chocolate lava croissant is seen as ordinary, the desserts stand out as little works of art.
Staff are kind and helpful, especially when explaining the different pastries. Though prices are high and serving sizes small, the quality and presentation make it worth it for a treat-yourself moment or an afternoon coffee break. The coffee is decent but nothing to brag about. Overall, Alexander's Patisserie is a hidden gem in downtown Mountain View, perfect for enjoying unique pastries and exceptional desserts.
