I visited Hong Kong Bakery for the first time with a friend who is a big fan and I became a big fan too. The owner was so friendly and even gave us a sample after our order which we really appreciated.

I ordered:
4 Mango Mochi
4 Banana Mochi
4 Red Bean Mochi
2 Sesame Balls
2 Egg Tarts

I liked everything but I especially liked the Mango and Red Bean.

The sponge cakes look so delicious but the taste is very disappointing. They are either too sweet and have an artificial aftertaste or the cake itself is too hard - I feel like I’m eating a flavored piece of cement. The price is also kinda high for the quality, $7 per piece of cake and cash only, honestly it feels like a rip off.

Hidden gem, Cantonese bakeries are disappearing because the next generation doesn’t want to master the craft. Enjoy Hong Kong bakery while you can, this mom and pop is one of the few that still makes their bbq pork buns in house and the baker is in his 80s!!

Look, the food is great…But Cash only?! In the heart of Silicon Valley out of all places. Come on. No ATMs around either. At $7 a single pork bun, you can accept Apple Pay.

I unfortunately had to move out of California, but let me tell you just how much I miss this place so much. I have so many moments where I am craving their sweets. My sister and I would always stop by after school and get a treat for ourselves. The owners are so sweet and welcoming. I highly suggest to come visit and get a little something for yourself as well!

The store is owned by an elderly couple and they're so sweet! The curry pastries are eapecially good and have lots of filling!

Can’t get enough of this egg custard tart! For $2.50 is so worth it. Also their BBQ pork bun is so good!

I was super excited to try out this bakery as I’ve been wanting to find a good Asian bakery in South Bay for some time now. Walking in to the shop, you could feel that this place has been running for some time and has been a cherished family business. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I was not prepared to pay $6+ for a baked bbq pork bun that didn’t quite have as much flavor as I was hoping. The bun was slightly larger than a normal sized one but lacked a good filling to dough ratio. For the time being SF bakeries certainly hold the crown. Maybe this is a case where I ordered the wrong thing and other items would have been better?

CASH ONLY SERVICE! Classic Hong Kong bakery with all of the classic baked goods made by the owner who has been here for MANY years. The lemon cake is moist and tasty! Almond cookies have that familiar flavor and crunch. The red bean sesame balls are my favorite!

The egg custard tart is delicious. The coconut bun on the other hand didn't have much filling and was on the dry side. This place is cash only.
