At first I was so excited to find a place with HK cafe food, as I've been missing the places from 626 like JJ cafe. Given that the recent reviews have all been positive, I didn't understand why the overall restaurant was still at 3 stars, but after ordering I see why now. It's not bad by any means but the food is sooooo so upsettingly bland. There was no flavor whatsoever. Maybe it's healthier, I'm not sure if that was their goal, but they could've added just a bit of seasoning. Fish porridge: the quality of fish was good, it wasn't fishy and it didn't seem like the cheap cod slices that are usually used. Very generous, large chunks of tender fish. However, I had to add my own salt and white pepper. Beef & egg over rice: the beef was a bit tough, and again this was flavorless. Found some big egg shell pieces as well. I turned this into porridge as well so I could add my own seasonings and chicken bouillon. Stir fried green beans: this dish was good! The garlic stir fry was flavorful. The quality of the green beans were generally good, not tough and stringy. Similar to Din Tai Fung but more quantity so better value. This place has a lot of potential but I just wish it wasn't so bland :(

Authentic Hong Kong "family style" food here. Simple and tasty. Much better service than most Chinese restaurants.

For Lunar New Year celebration we got takeout from Hong Kong Bistro. Before we ordered on DoorDash, I called the restaurant to confirm which dishes are vegetarian. They told me they were quite busy and we should expect some wait. Luckily the food still arrived at a reasonable time. We got a curry beef stew (with beef flank), a vegetarian delight, a kung pao tofu, and a string bean & tofu with spicy garlic. My personal ranking: 1) kung pao tofu, 2) string bean & tofu, 3) curry beef stew, 4) vegetarian delight. Kung pao tofu was delicious - flavorful with colorful vegetables and crispy fried tofu cubes. String bean & tofu was good, but the flavor didn't get absorbed much by the tofu or the string beans. Still it was tasty, and had good portion with plenty of tofu. The curry beef stew was delicious, but 60% of the container was filled with potatoes and carrots. In addition, over 70% of the miserable amount of beef they gave me was inedible, mostly thick "skin"-textured cream-colored beef, the inedible part of beef flank. Vegetarian delight was simply bland, not much flavor going on yet too much corn starch.

I went here later at night when the bistro was a little bit emptier. The staff were incredibly helpful and always told us what we wanted or needed to know. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. All of the food I tried was good, and the value for money is very good. Thank you for a good experience!

Came here for lunch with a friend of mine because he wanted to try out some Hong Kong baked dishes for the first time! Due to the rise of Omicron cases, we ended up sitting outside. I would like to compliment them for making sure there was enough space between tables without sacrificing the amount of tables they had overall. Seems like they have an arrangement with the neighboring restaurant to combine their outdoor seating. We ordered the Wonton Noodle soup as well as the baked pork chop rice with tomato sauce. Wonton Noodle Soup: Noodles were bouncy and fresh. Came out piping hot in a tasty broth. Included ~10 wonton pieces and bok choy, which was fantastic! The wonton pieces had lots of meat in them and they found a perfect balance for the wrapping where it was substantial enough to notice but not thick to the point where it fell apart in the soup. Baked Pork Chop Rice w/ Tomato Sauce: The sauce was a little sweeter than usual but was really good nonetheless. Pork chop was cooked to perfection, moist and not tough at all. HK Style Milk Tea: A little on the toned down side in terms of flavor but complemented the rest of the meal well. Overall, if your looking for some cantonese food, definitely check out Hong Kong Bistro. They have a wide selection of great dishes that will give you a taste of cantonese cuisine :)

Tried their Singaporean style chow fun and it tasted good and authentic! They have all the original recipe ingredients (shrimp, cha siu, bell peppers) for this dish and the noodle is chewy and stir fried really well. Love this dish there!

Food seems super pricy now! Weird how the food is no longer cooked inside the restaurant. My meal was delivered from the front door

Really good Hong Kong style food. The spiced pork and fried seafood were favorites of mine.

Stopped by for a late-evening dinner. They offered indoor and outdoor seating. Tried their noodles (can't remember which one), beef with tomato fried noodles, and their baked pork chop with tomato sauce (over rice), and everything was well-seasoned and flavorful. Food was prepared quickly, and the portions were decent/large. We ended up finishing the noodles and packing the rice home. Pricing was also quite reasonable all things considered - would go back again.

Hong Kong Bistro is the old HK staple in these parts. Open later than most, with a wide selection, and portions as big as your grandmother used to serve you (eat more, you’re too skinny!).Some of the classics here are the Beef Chow Fun, the Baked dishes, and the Rice dishes. The Baked dishes come in a convenient tin bowl that doubles as a takeout tray since the portions are so big you probably won’t finish. The Rice dishes, my favorite being the shrimp and egg over rice, are made with a nice slurry that mixes so well with the rice. It’s no wonder you’ll find old-timey HKers dining here, late at night discussing business or family, sipping on some lemon tea. HK Bistro delivers the goods.
