At first I was so excited to find a place with HK cafe food, as I've been missing the places from 626 like JJ cafe. Given that the recent reviews have all been positive, I didn't understand why the overall restaurant was still at 3 stars, but after ordering I see why now. It's not bad by any means but the food is sooooo so upsettingly bland. There was no flavor whatsoever. For Lunar New Year celebration we got takeout from Hong Kong Bistro. Before we ordered on DoorDash, I called the restaurant to confirm which dishes are vegetarian. They told me they were quite busy and we should expect some wait. Luckily the food still arrived at a reasonable time. We got a curry beef stew (with beef flank), a vegetarian delight, a kung pao tofu, and a string bean & tofu with spicy garlic. I went here later at night when the bistro was a little bit emptier. The staff were incredibly helpful and always told us what we wanted or needed to know. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. All of the food I tried was good, and the value for money is very good. Thank you for a good experience!
