This place has super flavorful rice and healthy chicken portions on their plate. This is one of very few places where I want the side to be more then the entree. The Amazing sauces make all the difference, they are the key in my opinion. Kmg and habanero are my pb and spicy j on any plate. I dont really like fried food but if I have a cheat day im game for the cutlet with sriracha and ginger scallion sauce, bombbomb!

food 0/10 , oh wait i couldn't even try it because despite the restaurant being named "rooster and rice", they only had vegetarian options. not sure if they ran out already at 7pm or the restaurant is changing it's name to veggies and rice

This place is a scam and was a huge disappointment. Go to Chicken Meets Rice instead. I ordered The Original and subbed scallion garlic oil. The chicken was dry and tasted like straight up one week old rotisserie chicken. The scallion garlic oil... didn't have any oil and tasted weird like it had gone bad. My fiance ordered The Original as well and he couldn't even finish it. The two stars are for the broth and the rice. Those were good. Maybe this particular location had an off day but I ordered during the lunch rush so I assume everything was "fresh" (probably just leftovers from throughout the week).

The “vegetarian broth” is literally hot water with scallions and cilantro. Worst food I’ve ever had, not worth even a penny. The vegetarian bowl is absolutely flavorless.Vegetarian options: Horrible vegetarian options. Broth is hot water with no seasoning just a few cilantro and scallions. Would not recommend

Thai Chicken Rice is at its base a bland dish, poached chicken breast over schmaltz-infused white rice….but the sauce is supposed to brighten the flavor of the dish with salt, umami, acid and a lot of spice.The sauce it was served with had none of these qualities, leaving me with one of the blandest meals I’ve ever had.On a positive note there was quite a lot of it.Parking: 10 spots shared between three businesses.

I was a 17 year old foreign exchange student in Thailand and this was the dish I ate for the first month I was there. It’s very simple - not the spicy, bursting with flavor typical Thai. Found this version to be ok. The rice needed to be infused with more chicken flavor. The sauce was good but not traditional - loved all the ginger. This location is a micro food hall so I’d be curious to try at a Rooster & Rice only restaurant as I question the ability for one kitchen to make great burgers, tacos, hot chicken, Thai food, etc. Got a side from another “restaurant” it it was terrible - all coming out of same kitchen.

Wow, there is life before this chicken & rice, and there is life after. It will change you. I don’t even understand how this is so good!!!Note: it’s inside a spot called Local Kitchens and it’s just take out.
The service is from Local Kitchens which has always been great. Rooster and Rice is a good option for anyone that is on limited macros and wants to hit be within limit but doesn't have time to meal prep. The chicken can be better, often is on he dry and bland side. The "seasonal veggies" are very disappointing! Basically steamed frozen broccoli and carrots which are just boring. Like I said, it's a like a bland meal prep, not a takeout food. But despite that, a fair option in contrast compare to everything else that the kitchen offers. Rooster and rice could do batter on flavoring with spices but still keep it low cal food. Low cal, clean does not equal bland and boring.

I am in love with their chicken rice dish "The original". A good combo of protein, cucumbers, and soup. Especially, the sauce makes everything much better. Very fast service! If you're hungry at midnight and live around Mountain View or Palo Alto, highly recommend going here.

This place made fresh popcorn chicken. The pieces were big and not just batter like most places. IT was moist and hot / freshly made. I would give this place another shot for their chicken and rice.
