Rooster & Rice

This place has super flavorful rice and healthy chicken portions on their plate. This is one of very few places where I want the side to be more then the entree. The Amazing sauces make all the difference, they are the key in my opinion. Kmg and habanero are my pb and spicy j on any plate. I dont really like fried food but if I have a cheat day im game for the cutlet with sriracha and ginger scallion sauce, bombbomb!

Thai Chicken Rice is at its base a bland dish, poached chicken breast over schmaltz-infused white rice….but the sauce is supposed to brighten the flavor of the dish with salt, umami, acid and a lot of spice.The sauce it was served with had none of these qualities, leaving me with one of the blandest meals I’ve ever had.On a positive note there was quite a lot of it.Parking: 10 spots shared between three businesses.

I was a 17 year old foreign exchange student in Thailand and this was the dish I ate for the first month I was there. It’s very simple - not the spicy, bursting with flavor typical Thai. Found this version to be ok. The rice needed to be infused with more chicken flavor. The sauce was good but not traditional - loved all the ginger. This location is a micro food hall so I’d be curious to try at a Rooster & Rice only restaurant as I question the ability for one kitchen to make...read full review
