Outstanding vegan rolls. The chef knows his craft and seemed tickled to see and hear our satisfaction. I sorely miss Rumble Fish!!

Some of the best sushi in the area. Everything was perfect and on point: Presentation, portion size, and ingredient balance. Upon first bite, instantly could tell the high quality. Also appreciated the ginger and onion/tomato salad. This is now my #1 go-to sushi spot.

The Sushi and Presentation is absolutely amazing a must go to or delivery restaurant for any authentic Japanese Cuisine lover and my message is all the way from

Went here in May. Went to Rumble Fish like almost 10 years ago the last time. Things changed in the way where it was hard to find a little bit. GPS saved me from my food getting too cold. Somewhere on Castro lol all I know. Food was a good portion which helped with the price. Bento was like $25+ I believe which seems like a lot, BUT the amount of food you get was worth it. Lasted me two days. Sushi was good and they gave me Edamame on the house!

A few years ago, I got takeout udon from here (it was before the pandemic, but I couldn’t choose a month before Aug 2020). The udon was bad, so I gave the restaurant a two-star review on Yelp. The owner attacked me via private message and threatened litigation if I didn’t take the review down. So I changed my review to one star, whereupon she called me and harassed me (she had my phone number from an online order—also my address!). She continued to harass me until I called the police on her. I feel comfortable posting this now because I moved :) Anyway, super scary and awful experience here, and also bad udon.

Ordered the deluxe sashimi platter (medium size)....a lot of very high quality fish! All very fresh and tasty. While there is no indoor seating, you can sit outside on Castro and do some people watching. The staff will bring out your food and drinks, which was nice! Meal comes with miso soup and since it was over a certain amount, the gave us a free order of fried goyza. A ton of good food!

I see from the fabrication from the owner that the physical violence, lies, threats to sue, and attacks that previous Yelpers described are true. Though I read the Yelpers description of this long standing bullying pattern, before experiencing it myself, I thought surely she didn't resort to violence or lies despite her anger management issues. "Karen" is an interesting thing she brings up. Like the original Karen who feigns that a Black man is frightening her and hurting her to make her point, Eun-joo fabricates these stories because the truth is unacceptable and wouldn't get her points across. It would have been great to see her have confidence in herself and in the knowledge that truth is good enough and is just.

My family and I celebrated Father's Day lunch here last Sunday and we ABSOLUTELY LOVE this restaurant!!! Salmon sashimi was very fresh, thick, and tender! The sashimi went absolutely amazing with the Motorcycle Roll (OUR FAV), and Rumble Roll. These two rolls are a MUST, especially the Motorcycle Roll!! We also ordered the Chicken Katsu Bento Box and the portions are plentiful/generous. Chicken Katsu was cooked to perfection, and was very crispy and flavorful! My daughter and wife also ordered the Chicken Karaage, and this was THE BEST that we have had since moving to the Bay Area. This appetizer was devoured by them in minutes. Aside from the food, the owners: Eun-Joo and Jin provided our family with AMAZING Hospitality and Stellar service!!! 5-STARS all the WAY! This made our day as our previous experience at other restaurants have been mediocre at best. They ensured that our food was cooked to perfection and made sure we had everything readily available from our water, soy sauce, chop sticks, napkins, etc. Eun-Joo is such a vibrant and energetic person and came out regularly to ensure our food was perfect! Can't thank them enough for their hospitality and allowing my family and I to have enjoyed such a BLESSED Father's Day lunch and experience! My wife and I have absolutely found our newest sushi restaurant to frequent!

I ordered the Three Amigos Roll today and this is what I got. For $18.50 I think this is quite ridiculous.

This place came highly recommended to us by a good friend while we were visiting Mountain View and so we all decided to dine in together for dinner on our last night in town. When we arrived, we were sat immediately and the server was very kind and attentive throughout our visit. FYI, this experience was pre-pandemic! Since my boyfriend and I had never been before, we had to order several rolls to get a good feel of the place. I tried looking at their current menu and think their menu/rolls have changed since the last time we dined there. I don't recognize any of the names, which is unfortunate for the purposes of writing this review, but we ordered 7 rolls (5 fresh rolls, 2 tempura fried rolls) and they were all good, so you probably can't go wrong with your selection. I appreciated that their menu had pictures of each roll and thought it was very helpful in choosing which ones we wanted to try, especially for a first timer. Looking at their online menu, there are photos next to each item, too. The prices seemed really fair and affordable which was another plus. Pro tip: Check In on Yelp while you're there to receive a free Gyoza app on an order of $50 or more! Overall, Rumble Fish wasn't my favorite sushi experience of all time (coming from a self proclaimed sushi snob), but for the price point, I would recommend it and come back again. As I mentioned before, I'm pretty sure this is one of my friend's favorite sushi spots. Nothing was bad, I just wasn't blown away by anything in particular. Check it out if you're in Mountain View and looking for a nice, affordable sushi experience! P.S. They're closed on Tuesdays!

We've gotten takeout from here a few times and have been happy with the quality of the fish each time. We've tried different nigiri, the chirashi bowl, and a few appetizers. I loved their salmon skin hand roll because it contained a good amount of salmon skin and the skin was really crispy. I find that most places either skimp on the skin or it's not crispy enough. I also enjoyed the chicken karaage. The gyoza, tempura, and chicken wings were't bad, but weren't anything special. We just wish things were a little cheaper, especially the appetizers. $12-$14 for apps like vegetable tempura and chicken karaage is kinda crazy. I don't love paying $12 for one salmon skin hand roll, either, even if it is really good. I appreciate that the two times we've ordered hot items along with our sushi, they've packaged our hot items separately from the "cold" items. One of my pet peeves is when restaurants will pack a super hot dish (like soup) on top of something like salad or sushi.

Vegetarian? Vegetarian Sushi? As good as or better than Shizen? Yes, indeed! Rumble Fish has several fantastic vegetarian options, all worth trying. They are not known for the usual cucumber or avocado rolls (even though they have those if you crave them). The Veggie Pop Star roll (see picture) is a delicious take that makes vegetarians feel welcome and keep coming back to this restaurant. The Caribbean Roll is non-veg and the homemade hot sauce is ironically on the sweeter side. When we went, they had a promotion for free gyoza or edamame with $50 purchase, which was a pleasant surprise. Previously, my favorite veggie sushi restaurant was in SF at Shizen. Since the pandemic though, Shizen's quality and general dining experience has gone way down and the convenience of having an equally as good or better option in Mountain View is super appealing. We order from here once a month at least to support our local MV businesses during these tough times. They are on DoorDash too!

Came here during COVID and this place did not disappoint. Everyone is following social distancing guidelines and the food is amazing. This has to be one of the best sushi spots in all of Mountain View and the South Bay. Highly recommend anyone looking for their sushi fix to try Rumble Fish!
