Great Indian food, restaurant has a mix of different styles. Enjoyed the lunch buffet and dinner service. I’ve tried a lot of different dishes and you can’t go wrong ordering anything on the menu!
Thanks to the restaurant for a good family meal and Raymond for being a kind server.

Location on Lovely Castro street. Beautiful ambience for groups, office meets, friends and families.
Well decorated, fine dining. Enjoyed
Various non veg dishes on my birthday party to friends and relatives.
Chicken dum biryani, chicken tikka masala, Sakoon special grill- platter of fish, chicken, meat as sizzlers was appreciated by all.
Sunhari moorg the dish was ordered from its name.
Had enjoyed buffet before for lunch, it was just awesome; full Of salads, tandoori chicken and veg appetisers, various veg and non veg dishes as main course were delicious to taste. 4 types of sweets were authentic in taste.

This used to be one of my go-to Indian restaurants in Mountain View but my recent experience was not great.
Food:
Avocado Bhel (4/5): Great flavor but a bit small.
Desserts - Ras Malai and Gulab Jamun (2/5): very basic and ok tasting.
Ambience:
Not great for a large group. We were sat in some back dank room down a very long drab hallyway with very little space for a group of our size of 30. It felt like a storage room.

We celebrated my parents' anniversary here, and it was an amazing experience. The food is incredible—the Pindi Chole and Paneer were highlights, though honestly, it’s hard to pick a favorite because everything was delicious! Beyond the food, the staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful. They even surprised us with a beautiful complimentary dessert for the anniversary. Thanks, Sakoon! You guys are the best.

Highly recommend Sakoon! My husband and I are regulars at Sakoon and it never disappoints. Our favorite dishes are the spicy butter chicken, the bhindi masala okra, and the rogan josh lamb with garlic naan and basmati rice. This place is consistently excellent.

A few years ago, I bought Costco gift cards that listed this Sakoon location. They gave the same address, the same logo, the same everything, and no expiration date.
When I attempted to pay, they stated they were no longer accepting gift cards due to a change in management; “the system” had changed. There was no sign posted that gift cards were not accepted. When I asked further, I was told, “if you weren’t going to use the gift cards, why did you buy them?”
I paid the $20 buffet cost and ate the cost of the gift cards.

I've had food here a few times. Indian food is my favorite food, and I find that California Indian food is not as good at the NYC Indian food I loved for so long.
Sakoon satisfied my desire and was acceptable. I ate the buffet only, which had plenty of very good food.
I will go back and try the menu food soon.
The service team was helpful and kind.

I come here for the lunch buffet around once a month. They don’t try to cheat you out of any money. This might be one of the best buffet in the entire Bay Area yet I have not seen many non-Indians there. It is really reasonably priced and they have so many menu options and the quality is really good.

This one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. The food is amazing, prices are reasonable, service is exceptional and it's not typically noisy.
Good spot for North Indian food. The weekend lunch buffet here is very good and has a good selection of items. The food is overall quite tasty.

Would come back for their lunch buffet if I want indian food. $18pp Mon-Thur, $20pp else. Left so full and fat my vision is hazy.
Came on Saturday, many people so food was hot and fresh, but not too busy around the food area.
Northern style rich and creamy (pakora, samosa, butter chicken), vs the nearby Mantra Indian has more dishes popular in the south (basmati, pani puri, roganjosh).
Good mix of vegetarian and meat dishes, a tad too salty and rich for my taste but still good. I liked veg curry (creamy and sweet with saag, peas, more), lentil makhani, egg curry, and paneer pashawari.
Naan was weak, they had another bread i liked better that reminded me of Vietnamese banh tieu that went well with curries.
Had an unexpected salad of ripe mango, black olives, bell peppers, and spring mix. I have to steal that combo i really liked it.
Had free weak chai as well, don't know if they sold other drinks.
Try to sit in the front, very large resturant but back area had industrial smell and felt like a dank cave to me.
Second time there, this time for a buffet.. and i am pleasantly surprised by the amount of appetisers here. So far, they bay area buffets have been disappointing.. this is slightly better. And the difference thats lending this place all the points is that every appetiser was actually good!
I tried the following :
Corn tikki
Desi fries
Veg pakoras
Avacado jhalmurri (didnt have avacado 🤔 but i really liked the bhel aspect of it)
Achari chicken (THE BEST)
Tandoori chicken
Fried Fish
Main course : Kofta and butter chicken (wouldnt recommend)
Dessert :
Gajar ka halwa (decent)
Gulaab jamun (not the best, i couldnt finish.. probably just not my taste)
Naans were soft too.
All in all, for a buffet its pretty solid!
Please note : if you have people who are not very spice tolerant, this place serves! It’s flavourful but not overly spicy!

I have visited Sakoon today with my team for their buffet, and it was a great experience. The spread was impressive with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. I enjoyed the roti, butter roti, paneer saag, paneer butter masala, dal, white rice, and desserts like kheer and carrot halwa. The chicken biryani, kebab, and other dishes were also flavorful. The buffet setup was neat, and the ambiance felt vibrant and welcoming. Service was smooth and the staff was attentive. Overall, a satisfying dining experience, definitely worth visiting if you're looking for a good Indian buffet in Mountain View.
