The food is very good… The service was very bad, the waitress was very bold, demanding a tip and did not want to provide good customer service. When I asked her about the drinks, she did not serve me.

Rating is primarily for the food as I always take out.PRO:- Good quality sushi- Nice selection of rolls- Bento boxes fillingCON:- Check your order before you take out- Expensive rolls ($15+)- Can get busy, call earlier to cut wait timeSUMMARY:This is my go-to sushi place in Mt. View. It's a bit pricey if you only do rolls or sushi but it's good quality.

Popular strip mall eatery delivered decent sushi and attentive service. This is your pretty basic family sushi restaurant with plenty of tables and booths. The menu is indeed diverse. I went basic with a California roll and a shrimp tempura roll. Neither was particularly flavorful and they required extra soy sauce to brighten up. The ebi shrimp was better. The service was fine. Prompt and efficient. I would return to Satsuma to give it a second chance but I would not rush back.

Impressed by the Sushi which tastes great. Beef rice bowl is a little too oily. Overall it is a great place that I recommend.

I use to frequent this restaurant regularly. They changed ownership about 1 year ago. It’s not at all the same the food is only ok and the restaurant is now dirty. I’m so sorry I no longer go there. Such a shame it use to be excellent.

Plenty of variety at this restaurant and it was all delicious. I was so full when I left. The staff were very friendly.

This is my second time visiting this restaurant. The first time it was in 2016. Last year, the owner of the restaurant retired and the business passed on to a new management. I visited on the 19th of September. The place was quiet and about 3 or 4 tables were occupied. Our waiter came and I ordered a lemonade, kampachi sashimi, an Hawaii roll and I shared a combo tempura. The lemonade was very good. It was sweet and tangy, very lemony and intense. The kampachi sashimi was, according to my research, likely longfin yellowtail (Seriola rivoliana). It came in 4 slices, it was buttery, chewy and I quickly found out that after tasting many kinds of sashimi over the years, kampachi is likely one of the kinds I liked the least. I ate 3 out of 4 pieces. If kampachi is indeed a farm raised fish, it must be cheap to raise and easy to sell. I really do not see what's interesting about it. The Hawaii roll contained tuna. It did not taste amazing. It was quite underwhelming. The combo tempura consisted of a variety of seafood and vegetable options, primarily shrimp and carrots, squash, potatoes and broccoli. The batter tasted alright. I ate one of the broccoli. The batter was not entirely cooked so when I bit in I tasted the wet and undercooked white stuff that at first tasted like mayonnaise (something I passionately dislike). At the end of the meal I was full but not satisfied. The only thing that left an impression was the lemonade which was quite good. The rest of the food was in the average and in some cases not even there.

We came here very often. Used to be twice a week. After they raised the price we came here less often, may be once a week. There was a change in ownership a year ago or so, after that the food quality went down. The one that bothers us is the fruit flies in the dining area. One time, there were 6 flies landed on our food. Another time two. I complained to the supervisor there. We will see whether they can fix the flies problem.
