Atmosphere was absolutely wonderful - shared an expansive private booth. Customer service was amazing - attentive, informative and yet not disruptive. We had the halibut and it was flavorful, flaky and divine! Would definitely recommend...
This was our first time at Scratch. The restaurant is beautiful and the food was great. The servers were very considerate. I was with friends I hadn't seen for a while and we were chatting. The staff, always let us have more time and did not interrupt our conversation. They let us stay and didn't rush us. This was so kind. I definitely would go back.
We enjoyed all of our food choices. The new tempura mushrooms are delicious. The halibut is always prepared to perfection and my husband LOVES the rotisserie chicken. The manager is awesome, and the serving staff is very good.
We were disappointed in our dining experience. The service was fine. The food was mediocre. I ordered the scallops and they came undercooked. So I asked them to redo or cook more. (they were soggy, not really seared). Someone came over, without introducing himself, so I cannot identify him as the manager or anything, and tried to tell that this is the way they cook them (medium rare) and maybe I should order something else. It was very odd. They did redo the dish and the scallops were much better. The diner next to me said that hers were also underdone. We also ordered a creme brûlée and other than the crispy top, it was bland and cold. I would not recommend dining here.
I've done several events at Scratch in their wine room and I can't say enough good things about their food and service. If you are looking to host and event in Mountain View this is a no brainer perfect selection. The service is incredible, the food is good and the drinks are fantastic. Thank you Scratch Team, keep up the great work, We can't wait to come back!
Amazing food!
We go to this place every year and again we had a wonderful experience. The food, the service and the ambience were impeccable. They just made a fresh batch of their own lemon cello and it was wonderful. The ahi tune appetizer was just perfect. We would go there again and again.
Great short ribs
Great foods and service ❤️
A favorite spot! We celebrated a daughter's engagement and our 40th anniversary with family foodies and were impressed with the food.

My wife and I brought my mother in law here for an early Mother’s Day celebration of her the Friday before Mother’s Day, reservation was at 6:30PM. The restaurant was peaceful, while there were other guests / parties there there was moderate music and conversation volume. OH MY GOD THE OYSTERS 🤤 they were so fresh! The 3 provided toppings certainly offered new flavors to oysters I hadn’t tried before which I had enjoyed! (Thank goodness I’m the only one who ate seafood at my table)
My wife and I chose the filet minion, medium rare - delicious with broccolini wow. My wife’s was perfect on the inside 🤩. My mother in law decided on the pork chop she loved it!
I also enjoyed a glass of a white wine with my oysters and a few sips of a red with my filet minion - I can’t remember what I chose from the top of my head sorry. Warm Sticky Toffee Pudding Sundae was delicious and a great item to share 🥰
I had the chicken & waffles. It was really good! The chicken is made fresh; the waffles have cornmeal. Real maple syrup for the win. Amazingly the little fruit garnish was also super delish.
We arrived on time for our Mother’s Day reservation and were directed to the worst table in the restaurant which was 1/4 full. When we asked for a different table we were rudely told that they were reserved by the hostess. After we pointed out that we also had a reservation the manager offered us a marginally better table and would not seat us in nicer adjacent tables. We were then ignored for 15 minutes and had to ask for menus and a server. Eventually we ate and the food was passable but not great and the coffee was burnt. The nicer tables were not used while we ate. I’ll never understand why restaurants treat clients in this manner, but I’m in no rush to return to Scratch.
Food was sub-par. Saying that for scramble eggs, French toast and biscuits is pretty bad. Eggs and biscuits are freshly prepared but they send us cold ones, the server takes them back and I'm told that the chef then took another person's order to quickly replace mine. Of course that was sitting around too, and so it was lukewarm at best. Biscuit was also the same temp. It's Mother's Day I get it but I have seen busier places that crank out meals that are hot and tasty. French toast tasted like bread pudding. Eggs were basically a long term hotel free breakfast offering.
The food was fine, but they couldn't honor some simple requests. Very odd, and not what we'd hoped for.
