I came here to celebrate my birthday. Firstly, the staff were very nice and attentive. To start, we got calamari, to me it was pretty standard with the taste. For the entree we got the tomahawk steak to share with mac n cheese & mushrooms for the side. The tomahawk steak was medium rare and cooked to my liking. The sides were smaller than expected but were good. In my personal preference, I thought the all food was quiet salty. At the end of dinner, they did offer a small cheesecake which was nice. Overall, I think this place is just okay. The restaurant itself had a nice atmosphere but keep in mind that parking could be difficult.

This review is strictly for their happy hour and I'm hesitant to leave the review because I don't want the word getting out. Great well-made cocktails and the happy hour food was amazing! Honestly didn't think we could possibly pay so little here in Napa. Get here early so that you can get a table in their beautiful setting!

The meal was amazing. The rack of lamb was perfect, the carrots and potatoes were very good also. Also ordered the Butternut Squash soup which was delectable. The service was so good and personalized to us. Could not have expected a better meal.

The service, food and experience was “ok”. Value was good . Especially the wine list was very reasonable with some specials they had. There are so many GREAT restaurants in Napa Valley, this one is not one I could recommend. Especially driving from St. Helena.

Restaurant is located inside the Archer hotel in a more open space. That in itself takes away from the dining experience, feels more like a hotel bar. We were a party of 8 with reservations and we were seated quickly. The assistant waitress provided us all water and took our drink orders. After that, we didn't see our actual waitress for about 20 minutes. Once we tracked her down to order, we didn't receive our entrees for another hour. We sat at 6:30 and our food didn't come out until almost 8. When the food did come out we were provided scalding HOT plates without warning, our sides were lukewarm and the waitress only "engaged" with us when collecting the check (which we also had to flag her for). The insane amount of time it took for our food was solely on the kitchen, totally understand our waitress had no control over that. However not checking in on our table or setting expectations about our order was really just a hospitality miss on her part. The food did not taste bad, but the visit isn't worth the frustration. I would not recommend, there are better options available in Napa. Cocktails were NOT GOOD.

The food was decent. The scallops were a bit over cooked but overall it was an average experience. The service was slow especially for the starters. Took about 30 minutes before we got our oysters and shrimp cocktails.

Terrible experience..... first off this "restaurant" is in the lobby of a hotel. We were sat next to very drunk people that had the cops called on them during dinner. It's just an odd vibe and I wouldn't go back. DONT GO!!!!!

Suprise early V-day trip from hubby, had dinner here as part of our day. Limited dinner and cocktail menu, but we were able to pick a few things that we thought we would enjoy. We had the octopus for appertizer, and hubby didn't care for the texture. Ceasar salad, which our waiter kindly split for us before serving it. Nothing special here, tasted as if the dressing came out of a bottle, 1 small piece of Procuito which tasted old and greasy and a few croutons. For dinner hubby ordered the pork chop, which he really loved, said it was cooked to perfection. It came with roasted broccoli and apple cranberry chatney. I choose the 18oz rib eye w/ chimicuri sauce on the side and au gratin potatoes. The steak was absolutely delicious. It was like cutting into butter. It was season and cooked perfectly for my taste. We also liked the au gratin potatoes, very cheesy and full of flavor. I was very happy with the steak, sauce, and potatoes as well as hubby with the pork chop dinner plate. The rest was just kinda blah. I'm not sure we would return again due to limited options and only really liking the dinner plates vs. the balance of the meal as we prefer a full enjoyable experience, not just half. If you want an awesome rib eye or pork chop, stop in for that. Otherwise, maybe look for a place with more options, seems the area has a lot to choose from.

Sandy was great! There was a big party which caused our food to be delayed but Sandy was very attentive and paid so much attention to us and made sure we were taken care of.

The service was really good. Sandy was our server and she took good care of us. The food was excellent, just what you want from a classic steak house. The ambience was nice, too. Classy, warm and inviting.

The ambience, food, service... it was all amazingly excellent. The only downside we had during our anniversary dinner was a gentleman at the nearby bar who seemed obnoxiously drunk and loud. He was the only reason we couldn't enjoy dinner as much as we wanted to. Food-wise, the tomahawk was made to perfection. Hats off to the chef!!

Went for Daily Happy Hour Food - 5/5. Lamb lollipops were absolutely phenomenal! Meat was tender all around even on the edges near the tip of the bone. It had great sear marks and remarkably, not a single part of the lamb was burnt letting you gnaw off every piece of meat off the bone. The sauce was a perfect match having just the right amount of sweetness to pair with the gamey flavors of lamb. It had bits of honey crystals for texture and excellent seasoning. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the lobster corn dog actually had a fair amount of lobster in it. Lobster was densely packed to form a nice bite and the batter was fluffy to match the delicate texture of lobster. The remoulade was creamy with hints of spice which helped balance out the fried flavor. I did find that the batter's stronger flavor made the lobster harder to taste and thus ate them separately. The steak sandwich really showcased the high quality and great cooking finesse of steakhouse beef. At first I was skeptical as the steak was a whole piece but the meat was so tender that it teared off cleanly just by biting into it! It was a beautiful medium rare and seasoned perfectly. The arugula mixture gave it a fresh, peppery flavor and the bun was toasted well. Fries were crispy and golden brown. Service - 3/5. It was a busy Saturday night and we sat in the lounge area. Nobody came by us for the longest time and a group of us were looking around for any staff. Fortunately, a server that wasn't assigned to our section finally managed to get our server. He took our order once and was never seen again which made us worry if he even input our order. The food actually came out way faster than expected and the rest of our service was was taken care of by the other server. She was professional, courteous and prompt with the service. Value - 5/5. They have a fantastic happy hour special on drinks and half price on small plates. Their small plate selection is vast with plenty of signature dishes to enjoy such as the steak sandwich and lamb lollipops. With the happy hour pricing, each item is only in the lower 10s price range. Despite that, the portion sizes are amazing with the lamb lollipops being served at a whopping 6 pieces! This amazing special is offered daily making it quiet possibly one of the best happy hours around! Parking - Street/Municipal Garage/Municipal Lot (Free)

My first Yelp Review. I have never left a review before but felt I had to share my experience. My son loves steak, so it was a no brainer to take him out to a steakhouse for his 18th birthday. After some research we decided on Charlie Palmer. It looked like it had nice ambience. The restaurant opened at 5pm and we had reservations at 6pm. Upon arrival the hotel was beautiful. My kids enjoyed how contemporary the hotel was and they snapped plenty of photos. We sit down for dinner and our waitress informs us that they are out of Porterhouse, NY Strip, Ribeye, and Wagyu. Basically, the only steak they had available was a Tomahawk. That of course put a damper on the evening. We made the best of it, but at the end of the day we spent close to $700 and none of us got what we went there for. My son ended up ordering salmon. When we look back on my son's 18th birthday, I thought we would say "Remember that beautiful restaurant we went to." rather than "Remember when we went to that beautiful STEAKhouse that didn't have any STEAKS." Not the way we wanted to spend his 18th birthday.
