Cuvaison has always offered middle-of-the-road wines and a tasting room experience tailored to the average tourist. In the past, its friendly atmosphere was the saving grace that kept it from harsher criticism. However, it now seems trapped in a confusion between striving for quality and leaning into pretentiousness, leaving an underwhelming impression.

Cuvaison is a beautiful winery with a great view, a nice patio, and lots of natural light. We loved our experience our first visit, so we returned with our families over the holidays. This time, we were disappointed. We booked the Estate Tasting Experience because it was marketed as an entirely indoor experience and offered 5 different wines. Having elderly parents, this was a great option for us because it was too cold to sit outside. After making the reservation, we learned that there’s been an error on the website and they offer only 4 wines, not 5. And, when we got there, they attempted to seat our party outside, saying there was no more indoor seating available. After explaining that we only booked the Estate tasting for the above reasons, the staff was able to make arrangements for us which we really appreciated. But I would be hesitant to make another booking because of the discrepancies. Overall, I recommend visiting but if you have specific preferences, I’d call ahead shortly before your reservation.

3 couples outside, Inside empty wouldn't allow us to partake in wine tastings without reservations. completely empty, things need to change.

Such an amazing experience! We visited in 2021 and still talk about how great this day was. On top of the beautiful views and wine, we were driven in a golf cart for a tour of the property! We loved the wine so much, we now have a delivery subscription and get to enjoy new bottles all the time.

We stumbled onto this place when the nearby winery turned us away due to not having a reservation - totally fortunate accident because what a GEM! The view from being slightly dipped below surrounding hills is perfection and makes it feel so cozy. Our host, Clayton, was so amazing - he knew exactly what to recommend after just asking a few questions. You are missing out on this hidden beauty if you don’t go.

Impressive view, wines with totally different nuances, which delight!!! Totally personalized attention.

This review is not so much about the wine as the tasting room. For the record the wine is fine. The tasting room is nice looking but service is appalling. From snail's pace service to uncomfortably pushy salespeople to endless phone calls for members, the experience just doesn't leave a good impression.

Another point is that the wine bottles have been redesigned to feel "luxurious". What this actually means is they are way too heavy and won't fit into a conventional wine fridge. Also it's just a waste of material considering they hold the same amount of liquid.

Our party showed up for Happy Hour around 4:15 hoping to get a table. Upon our walk in, the hostess/wine pourer would not seat us, claiming that there were no open seats, when there clearly were many. I asked, if anyone was projected to be done soon, and she claimed that every party seated just sat down..and would “be there for awhile.” However, we saw that there were many open tables AND we saw multiple parties leave while we waited for our transportation to an alternative winery. The rudeness, bluntness, and unhelpful disposition that we experienced is unrepresentative of Napa Culture and paints a poor reflection of the region’s hospitality.

There are a lot of robberies in the parking lot here.
They broke down the car door and stole everything.
The hotel is incredibly indifferent

Unwelcome experience. We totally understand the situation due to CoVid -19.
On June 17th at 11:25am. Receptionist was extremely rude and gave us an attitude as we walked in without a reservation. We have asked if we can make a reservation online, however, she said that she won’t be able to pick up the phone as She is working alone and She is extremely busy. “ extremely busy” there was 2 people inside...we left that place immediately. Not good...:(

Johnny was unwilling to accommodate us while we came from Savannah Ga and arrived at 4:45 with a 5:00 closure. We use to love the Couvaison Chardonnay. But now! Phew, I wouldn’t let my dog drink it.

This was a looser!

Very bad experience. Rude and arrogant waiters with wine at most mediocre

Just amazing, great wine and atmosphere, with exceptional service. One of the best vineyards I’ve visited. I took more than a few bottles home, only regret is I didn’t take more.

Good tasting and gorgeous views. Liked the wine enough to leave with a bottle. Eric was a great host! Their natural landscapers were baa-ing as we drove by.

Thank you for an amazing evening! Service was top notch! Even though it was a little bit windy, we enjoyed our outdoor table, the view, and all the great and detail explanation of each wine we had. Thank you for a great 2023 closure :)All the best for 2024 and we will back for sure!
