We drove 1.5 hours from San Francisco, Dotto being recommended by friends. We walk in, Name?
We don’t have a reservation.
We are fully booked.
That was it! And we were stared at until we walked out of the door. What a bizarre experience. No smile. No alternative being offered. No sorry. No nothing. And we were only one of two cars parked outside. I think this is what happens when a place has a lot of guests. So they can afford to have crappy customer service. Because they can. Avoid this place if you can. I rarely give one star reviews but this place is terrible. I feel sorry for such angry unhappy person behind the counter.
Go next door to Whetstone. They couldn’t be nicer.
I Have never felt less welcome… unwelcoming hostess.
Beautiful place, friendly staff, great wines. We stumbled across this place, didn't have reservations(it was a weekday) and they took us in, had a great experience.
You get pizza & a panini after the tasting. ??? The panini was ??!!! Cave tour was neat. The wine was also tasty… def purchased some bottles to take.
I absolutely love it here! The staff gives such detailed explanations about the wines, and you can only buy these exclusive wines right here, not anywhere else. The pizza they served during the wine tasting was super delicious. I’d definitely recommend this place to my friends!
10/10! I enjoyed it so much! Todd was an amazing tour guide! Todd deserves a raise. We tried amazing wines. We learned so much, and the pizza and tater tots are delicious! I will definitely be returning!-
Jeff was a great host that took the best care of us. We had a million questions and he was able to answer them all. The grounds are also spectacular!

Worst winery ever!!!! I have Crohn’s disease and needed to use the restroom really bad and we had to stop after driving a long time in the mountains. I went inside asked to use the bathroom and the lady with the brown hair said it’s downstairs. Then I said which way? She said oh wait, I thought you were tasting. Sorry I can’t let you use it. I said well it’s an emergency and she said, sorry I can’t let you use it but you can use the one outside and down the gravel road. Then I said whatever, where is it? Then this snotty young girl said take the path….its right there. I said where? She said it’s right in front of your face! Wow!!! So I said, I will make sure to leave you all a really good review on yelp, and then the other lady comes out and threatens to call the police. If I don’t get off the property she did. WOW!!!! I just have to use the bathroom!!!! Awful human beings! I will be taking this matter to upper management.
Amazing cave tour and wines. Kendal was great and very educational.

A beautiful winery. Some construction going on at this time. If you love Italian wines, you will love the wines here. There was no power in the caves today which was disappointing. No compensation was offered nor were we notified of this prior to the tour. I would have booked a cave tour another day if we had known. Our guide was great. Do recommend. Just wish they were up front regarding the power outage that did occur.
This place was an absolute joke. Cave tour... how about tacky man made tunnel with white paint.Tour guide... Dustin Ramey was the most pompous prick I've encountered. For the price I should be able to talk at will and take pictures at leisure. No, Dustin instructed no photos and told us repeatedly he would not repeat himself. This is unacceptable behavior and no way you talk to anyone that is paying such an absurd price to visit. The wine... honestly the worst I've tasted in Napa... even our wonderful host Dustin explained "this is the worst it will taste" why the F am I paying $120.00 to taste wine at its worst... please explain this to me.The most comical part was being served Sonic Drive In and 7/11 at the end... I mean come on where is the gotcha camera. Oh wait you're serious, these tater tots and microwave pizza is for real?!?!?!.I guess I should have known from the Vegas wannabe decor and random 70s rock but hey If you wanna throw away a few hundred dollars and have a massive headache from some franzia box wine go ahead do it... you be you.
It is a must-see winery in Nappa, due to its organization, its history and its winery, they have put a lot of effort into its infrastructure and it has rooms that transport you to Italy. The pizzas are too delicious and the wine tasting is done straight from the barrels so it's time to prepare, there are many glasses of red wine more than anything???????.
I know some like to refer to Del Dotto as Del Blotto, and you will have a wonderful experience. The wine is amazing, and the cave tour is fantastic. Enjoy!
Exclusive, ambient, personal, and overall excellent experience!!!Of all the vineyards we’ve been to, this has now taken the top spot!Such a private and intimate setting, amazing guides/hosts, and the wine- oh sooooo elevated and fine! Our guide Kyle was amazing, super knowledgeable, and there’s just something great about being able to taste wine straight from the barrel- raw and exquisite at the same time!Definitely book in advance and enjoy this wonderful experience!!! We will definitely be back and also visit the other locations!
