Incredible authentic Japanese food! Owner and chef, Michi, is warm and welcoming and creates delicious food. We went to a soft opening lunch at the new location on enterprise way. Everything was so good! The carpaccio had hamachi and salmon in a delicate ponzu sauce. We saw her attention to detail in her miso soup, which she told us has house made dashi and has a complex flavor. Food was good but apparently over priced. You can easily get same quality food at a lower price back to Bay Area, but I guess rarity is more expensive given there aren’t many good Japanese restaurants within 30min drive.
Hal Yamashita was a beautiful, serene place to take our friends out to dinner for my husband's birthday. It wasn't too loud that we couldn't talk. The food was terrific. We ordered an assortment of items to check out the quality of the food. Our friend who travels to Japan regularly indicated that the food was as good as he gets when in Japan.
