The Oasis at Hoopes is a standout asset that transcends the traditional winery model and delivers a truly differentiated experience. This is not just a tasting stop—it’s an immersive sanctuary with purpose. In addition to the wines, the property functions as a forever-home refuge for rescued animals, so your visit includes encounters with pigs, goats, donkeys, and a rotating cast of lovable livestock that add real soul to the experience.
Located just outside the charming town of Yountville, it feels worlds away from the standard Napa itinerary. The setting is relaxed, authentic, and refreshingly unpolished—in the best possible way. If you’re looking to diversify your Napa portfolio with something memorable, values-driven, and genuinely fun, this is a must-hit winery that far too many people overlook. A high-impact experience with heart.
This was such a gem of a place. We had a wonderful time with a delicious wine tasting and space enough for our son to run around and explore. The animals were a big hit and the gardens were lovely. Our only complaint was the space is mostly outdoors and they have no heaters - it got to be a bit cold.
We were searching for a kid-friendly winery in Napa, and the Oasis caught our eye. My family and I had an amazing time there. Our host, Emanuel, was incredibly welcoming and approachable. He not only shared the stories behind the wines we tasted but also introduced us to the personalities of the animals in the sanctuary. This unique aspect made our wine tasting experience truly special and enjoyable. My child had a blast on the farm. She made friends with donkeys, goats, and chickens, and told us she wants to come back again, which we’ll definitely do! Most importantly, the wines are good. We couldn’t resist taking a couple of bottles back home.
It hasn’t been easy picking a favorite at Napa, but Hoopes is it. This place treats you like family, feels like old school wine tasting, warm, welcoming, not rushed…love to be here. Came here two years ago and had such a great time with Olivia. This time Cort took great care of us and was very knowledgeable with the wines. We have had such a great time here and can’t wait to come back with our kids!
Family owned vineyard with a small farm attached. Gorgeous grounds
We had a great experience this week with 4 adults and 4 young-ish kids. Jeremy allowed us to come slightly before closing (we called) and he didn’t make us feel rushed at all. The tasting was generous, delicious, and the ambiance was beautiful. Kids loved the garden and animals. We’ll be back!
Very worthwhile stop in Napa! Family and dog friendly. Jeremy was wonderful! We will be back
We decided to try The Oasis because our son is currently obsessed with pigs and we’re so happy we did! When you walk in you are greeted with a glass of wine and are told to walk around. I love that you’re not confined to a certain area. We saw pigs, horses, chickens! All sorts of animals. We then sat down for our wine tasting and left with 5 bottles. Exceptional wine and shout out to our amazing host Emmanuel. We’ll be back!
If you’re heading to Napa and looking for a spot that’s as fun for the kids as it is for the adults, drop everything and check out Oasis by Hoopes! It is the last truly kid-friendly vineyard in all of wine country—and believe me, I’ve been searching high and low.
From the second we arrived, we were treated like VIPs. Brian greeted us so warmly and gave each of my kiddos their own little goodie bag packed with juice, snacks, and coloring activities. There's cornhole and other games, and ample room to run around and play. But the real showstopper? Their on-site animal sanctuary. Rescued goats, donkeys, pigs, chickens and even an SFPD horse, all waiting to charm you and your little ones. My kids were in absolute heaven. Meanwhile, the adults got to sip on amazing wines - I need a whole wine fridge devoted to their sauvignon blanc.
In a region where most wineries cater strictly to adults, Lindsay Hoopes has created is the magical unicorn of wineries - one that delivers amazing wines and goes out of its way to make families (and animals!) feel welcome. So if you’re planning a Napa trip, do yourself a favor and add this to your must-visit list!
A truly wonderful experience! Such a beautiful vineyard with an animal sanctuary and organic garden. The perfect spot to sip delicious wines and let the kiddos explore the garden and observe the animals. The Staff were warm and hospitable and we so appreciated the little tray of snacks and activities they provided for our kids. We loved our time so much that we signed up for a wine club membership!
Restaurantji Recommends
Their booking online is a bit misleading. Our party understood that there was a two bottle minimum but the waiter laughed at us and told us it’s 2 bottle per person. The host/waiter was incredibly rude about that, and not particularly helpful during the tasting. He’d wait around saying nothing and then let us know that he’s waiting for us to stop talking so he can explain things. Also the smell of barn animals during a wine tasting is just a bit unpleasant. Also, no food at all? Despite there being a garden and farm on location. When I asked about food, I was laughed at and told to get Grubhub. Yikes.
I cannot recommend this spot enough! We made a reservation in the picnic area and were nothing but thrilled with our experience. Our toddlers loved exploring the gardens and watching the animals. The wine was delicious (the Oakville Cabernet was a favorite from our trip). Thanks Brian for making us feel so welcomed!
Highly recommend this beautiful winery! We were looking for something kid friendly and stumbled upon it. We were blown away with how beautiful it was. The sweet rescue animals and beautiful grounds were fun and entertaining for the kids, while we sipped the amazing wine in the gorgeous relaxing setting. Would also say that as just a couple we'd return for the excellent wines ambience and service. Lyvia was an incredible host, welcoming and knowledgeable and walked us through each tasting and the history of the winery so well! Loved it.
Brian sat us at a Picnic Table even though we didn't have a reservation. The rescue animals are super cute for the Kids and I'm so glad we stopped in. The Rose we had was very good and thank you Brian for getting us seated without a reservation!
A fabulous little oasis of a winery just off the main road, Brian the perfect host, although not us but very family friendly with lots of animals to entertain kids, and lots of great wine to entertain adults! Highly reccomended as a smaller boutique winery with a very delightful atmosphere.
