Lil Sista’s Goody’s

Lil Sista’s Goody’s was a pleasant surprise. The food was outstanding and seasoned to perfection. The gumbo was flavorful, the fried ribs, fried chicken, and fried fish were all cooked perfectly, and the oxtails and shrimp & grits were absolutely delicious. The food makes you feel loved, with nice clean flavors, and everything tasted amazing. The atmosphere felt like being surrounded by family, and the place buzzed with efficiency and a lighthearted but professional energy. The DJ was spinning, and the team made guests feel welcome. The host and owner make you feel welcome and at home. The atmosphere is the best and vibrant. One of the best places to eat in Napa, the food is literally a 10 out of 10, so fresh and delicious. Every time there are out of town guests, they are taken here if a Sunday reservation can be gotten, because the food and ambiance is that good, and Sunday brunch can be sold out for weeks. No one has ever said anything bad. They love the food, the DJ, the vibe, the service, everything. They all say it was the highlight of the food portion of their trip. This is a MUST experience. The only downside was the wait. There were long lines to get to many of the dishes, and having to wait for certain items to be refilled took away from the experience. Since this is a timed dining experience, spending part of that time waiting for food was a bit disappointing. At around $80 per person, the overall operation could be a little more refined and better stocked throughout the service. There were limitations to the amount of food, often only rationing two small pieces of fish and crab at once, which requires multiple extra trips, and for a large group of people causing longer wait times. There were many time constraints on multiple food items. The experience was not like a traditional buffet, and the underperformance in comparison to the advertisements online and social media presence was overwhelming. It is unorthodox for a company to serve food limitations that are unreasonable but advertise themselves as buffet style. There were errors with billing, which needed to be resolved manually. The company explicitly defined the details two weeks prior, but in one opinion, were unable to meet the obligation. Overall, the experience was dissatisfying, confusing, and did not meet the expectations of the overall bill. That said, the quality of the food definitely delivered, and despite the minor frustrations, it was a solid dining experience that would be recommended.
