Really shouldn't have started our week in Napa here, because every tasting after this was just a disappointment. The wines were phenomenal, to say the least, and our host was knowledgable, personable, and friendly. I would highly recommend the tasting here. It was a highlight of our trip.

Matthiasson is one of our favorite Napa wine producers and, without a doubt, probably the most interesting. This is not your typical valley fruit/alcohol bomb. Their wines are carefully produced to be food friendly and accessible. Think low alcohol and restrained fruit. If you add looking for great concentration of fruit and oak, go elsewhere

This was our second time tasting at the property and the experience was top notch. Ben, who only does tastings once a week, was a real pleasure. Great knowledge and fun personality.

The property itself is small and casual. Reservations are a must

Matthiasson was so very special and we were so glad that not only we planned to do a tasting there, but that it was the first winery visit of our trip. So intimate, with a distinct intentional feel. Our host, Chin-Wu, greeted us immediately upon arrival and was incredible in his hospitality, his knowledge of wine, and the wine maker's philosophies. He set the bar high for what we expected the rest of our trip! We loved that we were placed right in the vineyard. The wines were fresh expressions of grapes we were familiar with - very delicious! A little lighter and brighter than typical, and we loved that they are lower in alcohol and sulphates. Their commitment to environmental sustainability and producing organic wines that were tasty, made it easy to become a fan. Joined the wine club and looking forward to sharing these special wines with family and friends. It is a small tasting environment, so planning a visit ahead of time is a must.

I recently enjoyed a tasting hosted by Halle. She. Is. A. Star. I just wanted to share how much I enjoyed the experience! Yes, the wine was incredible, but Halle made the wine come to life. Thank you so much for providing a space for learning new things, laughing and of course, drinking wine. I can’t wait to share the bottles I bought yesterday with my family in NY.

Excellent experience at Matthiasson. It's an intimate setting where the people are really passionate about the wine they produce. Derek was incredibly knowledgeable and personalized our tasting. This has been my favorite Napa experience by far.

I booked a reserved tasting for 2 last weekend. The booking process was smooth. We arrived on time and our table with awesome view was ready for us. Our host was courteous and attentive. These are the positives.

We were disappointed by the taste of the wine. No where on their website or Yelp review mentioned that their specialty is more acidity and they pick grapes one month earlier than other wineries so that the wine has less sugar and alcohol in it. All their wines taste overly sour to us. And I believe the majority population's taste profile agree with ours. If you are not into strong acidity this winery is not for you.

Another reason for low rating is that we booked the reserve wine experience for $100 more person, but the host only laid out the wines for standard tasting on the table. He claimed that he would bring reserve wines based on what we like but since we didn't like any wine we tasted he ended up only bringing 1 white and 1 red reserve and skipped some later wines on the standard tasting menu. I was expecting a more structured reserve wine menu with consistency. They certainly missed the mark.

In Napa Valley, which sometimes feels like “wine Disneyland”, this vineyard is a refreshing exception. With a deep commitment to organic farming and natural wines, they bring genuine passion and go the extra mile to share a thoughtfully crafted collection. Highly recommend their new orange made with ancient winemaking!techniques!

It was an amazing tasting experience! Very personal and not at all pretentious.

Derek was such a great host! We felt so at home and the views were so gorgeous! The wine was so unique and special for the valley- not just 5 deep cabs but a great selection of whites and different reds. Loved the story and the background. took several bottles home!

Wow!

Amazing winery! One of the best recommendations we received for Napa wineries. Intimate personalized tastings in a relaxed, scenic environment. It was great to discuss the wines we were tasting with our knowledgeable host.

The taste and quality of the wines impressed us so much that we joined their wine club. Strongly recommend!

Tasting by reservation only.

We had an absolutely wonderful tasting. Felicia, our tasting guide was very knowledgeable for having just been on for just one month. Her presentation of the Matthiasson method of farming was mindblowing. We were introduced to many impressive varietals and enjoyed a perfect afternoon on the Matthiasson vineyard. Highly recommend.

Derrick at Matthiasson did a fabulous job welcoming my friends and I for a birthday celebration tasting. He was absolutely wonderful, knowledgeable, funny, and went out of his way to make the tasting special. I already loved Matthiasson wines but this was above and beyond. Thank you for such a great experience!

Joseph was absolutely amazing, especially for only being there 3 weeks. So knowledgeable. You could have told me he was there from the very start and I'd believe it.

The tasting was completely curated to the individual and not a black and white cookie cutter tasting. Matthiasson is doing some really cool stuff that almost no one is doing in the valley. Would recommend 1000 times over. 100% organic. Some mixed fruit co-ferment. Cmon does it get any better.
