Whet Stone Cellars in Silverado Springs was honestly such a standout. The whole place feels relaxed, cozy, but still really intentional, they care deeply about the wine without making it feel intimidating.
The Chardonnay was the highlight for me. It’s super clean and crisp with just the right amount of richness. And I NEVER like Chardonnay! You get bright fruit and this subtle mineral thing going on, but it never feels heavy or over-oaked. It’s the kind of wine you can casually enjoy, but also one that makes you pause and go, “oh wow, this is really good.” Definitely memorable.
Melissa made the experience even better. She was welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to talk to. Nothing felt scripted or rushed. She explained the wines in a way that actually made sense and clearly loves what she does. It felt more like being shown around by a friend than sitting through a formal tasting.
Whet Stone Cellars nails that balance between high-quality wine and a laid-back vibe. Great wine, great people, and an overall experience that makes you want to come back. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

We walked in here at around 11am on a Wednesday- we were staying at Silverado, walked by and decided to stop in. We were treated to delicious wines, a gorgeous space and friendly service :) I had the Viognier and loved it- peachy and perfect for a sunny morning. No stuffy Napa vibes! Michelle told us her + her husband's story of opening Whetstone and we were thrilled to hear it. Recommend stopping in here!

This is the hidden gem of Napa! The wines are impeccable and the hospitality is even better. At Whetstone you can cozy up by the fire and chat with Michelle who is the most lovely person. Despite the close proximity to downtown Napa, Whetstone makes you feel like you’re in Tuscany. Could not recommend this winery more.

After being turned away at Del Dotto next door for not having a reservation ( whatever lol), this place turned out to be great. So welcoming. Great outdoor seating. And excellent wines and snacks. I would wholeheartedly recommend it. (Avoid Dotto at all cost).

Lovely blushed Rose wine was one of my favorites on this trip. We enjoyed the property and had a nice conversation with the staff. We like this winery a lot. The property is roughly built in 1885 (check with the staff) and has a lot of character. The trees and vines covering the property are very beautiful. ?
Seating outside or inside depending on ypur preference. Definitely stop at this gem!!

Had an amazing visit to their picturesque 200 year old building. The ambiance of the cozy candlelit tasting room well decorated for the holidays was perfect for a quiet, rainy day with friends. Wines were delicious and the host Danielle was knowledgeable and very helpful. We will revisit, definitely recommend.

We absolutely love this place! The wines are great. The people are wonderful. We always have a great time sitting here and admiring the lovely weather sipping on great wines from whetstone.I think this is one of Napa's great secrets; not many people know of this place. I think the owners do a great job making guests feel at home; all the staff are very down to earth; absolute pleasure.We always purchase a ton of wine and ship it home to have when we go home. Really enjoy this place. Thank you!
