Slappy's Burgers and Brews

We've been going to Slappy's a few times a year for years & always thought it was great. Not anymore.
The keg of beer must had run out halfway through filling the pitcher so they brought us one with 50% foam. The server (Elvira - very nice) couldn't even pour pints it was so foamy. And it tasted horrible & flat so we asked for a different one as it was undrinkable. Eventually we got a different beer.
When the check came they charged us for both pitchers (despite saying they wouldn't). We spoke about it & they gave us a newer amount but they are trying to charge my bank for the higher erroneous amount.
I don't know if they're under new management but this was hugely disappointing.
My bank has been informed of their fraud & we will be pursuing it further.

I haven't been here before, though I've seen it dozens of times. Today I was passing through thinking about lunch. So I decided to give it a shot. At first I was put off by the price. But then I realized I was looking at the specialty section. Standard C-burg is 16.00 and change. And it comes with a generous portion of fries. Overall a good deal on par with Denny's. Now the service. Attentive, but not hovering. An A+ for me. And now food quality... Juicy burger, which tells me the meat is pretty fresh. Definitely enjoyed my lunch. Will be back. Only bad spot was Detroit lost to the Ca. Angels.... boooo. But seriously. A neat place.

I go once a week for lunch it's quiet and peaceful. Burger and wings is always on point. The woman bartender makes you feel very welcomed and she's very attentive. Been coming here for at least 2 years.

We aren't talking gourmet here, but a really good sports bar with tons of TVs, simple menu, but good food! Great vibe.

This spot is a hidden jewel in National City. The food is excellent with great prices but what I didn't realize was a $30 + tip was already included in our bill. Before I realized it, we tipped the waitress a $20 bill which she happily took and NEVER said the tip was included so she helped herself to a $50 tip. So just look at your receipt before you pay!!!!

Cool little spot for Monday Night Football. Double bacon cheese burger was delicious. Wings were good. Very good customer service. Parking wasn't a hassle. Lots of people were here when I dined in. Thanks again!

Sports bar offering burgers, wings, hot dogs, etc. The portions were large and the food was hot and tasty. I had the Slappy Burger and it was a big, messy burger that hit the spot! Service was friendly.
