I read the reviews for this place and I was curious to try it, being Mexican, I’ve never been too impressed by tacos in San Diego, there are good tacos but there’s always something better down south.
I am not someone that picks a place for the atmosphere, I go places for their food, if the atmosphere is good I might stay longer but if the food’s good I’ll come back.
Which is the case with this place, the food is so good that I would travel back from mexico just to eat their ribeye tacos.
I’ve read about people complaining about the atmosphere here, there are too used to fast food joints, this is how a real taqueria feels like, it’s rustic, not sterile, there’s ash from the charcoal flying and landing in the furniture out back, loud music, informal service. If you can’t deal with that, go get yourself some fast food instead, this might not be for everyone. But the food…
The food is worth it, not sterile uberclean plastic setting we tend to find this side of the wall, this feels authentic, and tastes like the best in Mexico. The quality of the raw materials ids the best I have seen, even in México. Could the setting be better? Who cares, the tacos are fantastic that’s all that counts.

This place is absolutely the place to eat. We had the ribeye fries, tacos and torta. The chimichurri was delicious. I didn't even have to add salsa to my food. I highly recommend this place.

The agua de jamica was so good and fresh! You gotta give the ribeye taco's a try, they are worth it! Practically melt in your mouth good and the peppers were so fresh.

Got a surf and turf papa loca along with 4 tacos, I was enjoying it until I bit into my first shrimp and it was completely raw and cold on one side. Most of the shrimp were some level of raw. Had to throw them in a pan to cook them through as the restaurant was too far to go back and they did not answer their phone. Really threw off my perception of the rest of the meal. Probably won’t be back. Overall good flavors however attention to detail needs work, shrimp being a fast cooking protein don’t know how it got out the kitchen raw.

maybe its just me. tiktok bought me to this place as they have ribeye tacos which was new to me.
dont get me wrong, the ribeye was delicious and the chimichurri was on point but something about ribeye and chimchurri in a corn tortilla just didnt taste right to me. my mind couldn't figure out if i was eating a steak or tacos lol.
my wife had the ribeye baked potatoe and we both fully enjoyed that one.
if you come out here at night be sure to bring a jacket because it gets cold!!

I don’t usually do this but felt the need to do so… food is good….but the service!!! Waited for too long…they give you a number which they don’t call out for you to get your food. We thought oh maybe cause they brought everyone their food we would get ours…NOPE not until we went up and asked for our food!! So by the time we got our food it was all cold from it just sitting there!! And for the price you pay you would expect more.

OMG! Best Tacos ever! Tried the Vampiro with Carne Asada and the Shrimp Taco. The Shrimp Taco was BOMB and easily my favorite! Gotta go back and try more.
Tried the Ribeye fries for the first time here. Perfectly cooked and seasoned with high quality meat! The fries are thick and crispy, steak was seasoned perfectly and the chimichuri sauce really added amazing flavor to the plate. Now to the salsa bar - everything is organized and clean. Loved all 3 types of salsa. The pickled onions are crunchy and a bit sour (for my personal taste but overall very good) They also give you a side thing of grilled jalapeno (spicy) and onions - they're so addicting. The horachata is another plus for the place - made very fresh and soo flavorful. On top of all, the customer service is amazing - very friendly and welcoming. Will return for sure with other family members!

Additionally, their use of inappropriate language among themselves was concerning, especially given the presence of women and girls waiting for their food. Overall, I believe there is room for improvement in both service and atmosphere.
