This is my go-to place in Nevada City as a local. There are some pretentious places around town, but this is THE legit spot for just being. The burgers are excellent, they pour a generous cocktail, have a good beer selection, the live music is always good and the staff is friendly competent. Can't do better! That said, The Fern across the street is a chill bar and has no kitchen. You can get your food to go from the Crazy Horse and head across the street to mix it up a bit.

It was over a 100° and close to lunch, Rachel greeted us and said we were welcome to sit at the bar. It was open, and we had a cold drink while we waited until 12:00 to order food... worth the wait!
The dinner salad were great and we each had 2 different fish sandwiches... Yummy

Cute little hole in the wall restaurant. I ended up getting chicken thighs and the mac and cheese with pulled pork. So good!
