Our favorite restaurant in Nevada City! The food is wonderful, the service is excellent, and the "Live Music" is always great. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you're ever in the area.
Awesome experience at Friar Tuck's, the food was excellent, the ambiance was great, service was excellent, overall well worth the $$$
We were celebrating my birthday on Halloween. I brought my daughter and her husband I wanted to show them a good time we were sat in the back corner where all the waiters walked past every second the seats were sunken the table was chest high. We couldn't see anyone else at the restaurant. Or participate in anyway. It has to be the worst last resort table. I was so uncomfortable and sad to not be offered a free dessert or a little scoop of sherbet or something to celebrate. I felt very disappointed.
We came here for a pre-dinner drink. Fantastic bar! Great cocktails, fun and casual vibe, friendly customers and staff, excellent love music.
Bar and restaurant don’t feel integrated. Place could use remodeling to open up and allow for live acoustic music inside and improved atmosphere.

The martini we had at the bar before our reservation was excellent! The bartender was great, too. When we were seated for our dinner reservation our waiter was initially great. Attentive and friendly. As it got busier, he disappeared. Our steak was over cooked, the mushrooms were terrible, and we got our salad after our main dish arrived. It was disappointing because it was our anniversary. We did let our waiter know and got 10% off the bill. I'd go back to the bar but not sure I'd go back to the restaurant.
This is a fantastic restaurant and bar. Great food. Awesome ambiance. Great entertainment.
Appetizers were great, as were the entrees; Filet mignon was tender, and perfectly prepared and presented; House-made lasagna was excellent; Maui Pie and Creme Brûlée closed out the feast; Music, ambiance, and service were exceptional!
If you want amazing food, not cheap, but well worth every penny, this is it! I especially love going on Sunday Evenings, 6 to 9 or so, when the band Dasty Island is playing! They are awesome Island styled, including some Regge… and the atmosphere is like no other!! A real LOVE-FEST!! Drinks, Dinner, and dancing, no drama!!

We've been here many, many times over the past 11 years since moving up Nevada City way and this was not a good night except for the nice bartender! My steak was ordered medium, it was medium well, not up to their normal standards. I ate the sides and took the meat home, next day sliced real thing and warmed on stove with bbq sauce. Then it was edible....Not sure what was going on in the kitchen!
Overall, solid experience
