Friar Tuck's Restaurant & Bar

The service was excellent. The steak frites: the fries were good, the steak was tough, had a displeasing texture, and if it wasn't for the herb butter wouldn't have any taste. Maybe it had been frozen too long. The prime rib sliders were excellent. The salmon was excellent. Because of the issue with the steak, they comp'd a desert and glass of wine. We thought the server handled it well!

My 7 year old son and I went for his birthday dinner. The service was great. We ordered a Caesar salad — the dressing was awesome—and salmon to share and it came out in a timely manner. They were kind, bringing him a spoon for his pearl pasta and offering him ice cream for his birthday. The in-house music was awesome, a perfect mix of dinner music and entertainment, keeping us moving in our seats.

Friar Tuck's never fails to disappoint. Wonderful atmosphere and very accommodating. I've never had a bad meal or entree choice here which makes it a faoorite stop while visiting Nevada City. I took my dad there for a Father's day dinner and he was thrilled. Will of course be back.

Awesome place to eat. We started off at the bar and had a few drinks from one of their friendliest bar tender Jeff. He was cordial, friendly and a very nice person to hold a conversation with. We then ventured to our table which was wonderful, we were celebrating our 44th anniversary and they took very good care of us. Starting with an appetizer to our dinner entre they were all very tasty and we enjoyed the flavors immensely. We were surprised with a creme brûlée from the staff on the house wishing us a wonderful anniversary. What a great restaurant we enjoyed our evening and will continue to return, as we always have!

We celebrated a milestone birthday here and had a fabulous time! The food was delicious and reasonably priced, the drinks were tasty and reasonably priced and the fondue dessert was so much fun! A great selection of fruit and sweets to dip into melted chocolate and we loved it! Thanks to our server Tyler who was kind, attentive to our needs and made the evening so enjoyable for us. We love eating here when we are in the area!

We started our meal with marinated mushrooms that were very good. I had prime rib that was really good and there was a lot of meat. My wife had fillet with blue cheese sauce. A little too salty for her. We shared a slice of cheese cake that was very creamy, very good taste

This is always a good choice. The menu is innovative and the food is excellent. I recommend it most highly.

What a great experience with my daughter. From beginning to end, it was fantastic. Yo did a great job as our waiter, but ETAN and INDIGO were the stars. They supported the waiter's efforts so well. They were brilliant. It was another excellent meal at Friar Tuck's.

What a great experience this was. The service was superb, but the food was magnificent. It is a great menu with a vast array of items as well as nightly specials. We had such a great time and will return again soon.

Friar tucks used to be our favorite place. Although service was excellent, and food was tasty, the menu has changed too much, to where we aren't happy with options. They got rid of or favorite appetizer, Salmon carpacio, and dinner, tempura prawns. They do have good steaks on the menu, but no seafood pasta, or any pasta. The menu is very limited in our opinion. We loved ordering and eating in the bar for the music previously, best around. Now we struggle finding anyone we like. Cello joe plays there a lot, he was playing when we were eating in the dining room on a Friday night. He needs to go. I was so distracted by his horrible sound, I couldn't enjoy dinner. Just awful. Sorry to say, we aren't regulars anymore. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

It was a birthday celebration and this was the perfect spot. The food is very upscale and it is a great ambiance. Even the owner visited our table to make sure we were 100% satisfied. What a great experience. We will return soon.

Great food but price was on the higher side. Drinks were good and entertainment was great !

It was my anniversary. They treated us so great! The special was Lazagna. Very good! I am not sure what was going on in the bar music wise, but it sounded like bad keroke. We got quite a giggle about it. Was glad when they went on a break. The pumpkin martini was really good!

This is a brilliant restaurant in the heart of the iconic Nevada City District. The food is always innovative and excellent. The service is very good. It is a great place if you want a superb meal in a quaint location.

Had the salmon, excellent, and the others had the veggie lasagne,very good. The live music in the bar area gave a good vibe and wasn't too loud. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Great drinks too!
