Szabo Vineyards | Tasting Room

Szabo Winery is a hidden gem in Nevada City. The tasting room has a fantastic ambiance, often paired with great music that makes for the perfect, relaxing afternoon. Owner and winemaker Alex Szabo brings his Hungarian roots into every bottle, and it shows — the wines are truly phenomenal and never disappoint. Whether you’re a seasoned wine enthusiast or just looking for a memorable tasting experience, Szabo Winery offers a welcoming atmosphere and some of the best wines in the region.

Spent a lovely afternoon tasting wine here over the weekend! Kayla was so friendly and shared fun stories about the decor, winemaker, and the wines. There was a good variety of reds, and all the wines were so reasonably priced for the quality. Can't wait to go back next time we're in town!

A+ experience all around. The wine is next-level incredible (I literally dream about the Vizir every night) and the best wine you’ll taste in the North Sierra Foothills. Ambiance of the tasting room is lovely (sit on the big leather chairs by the bay window that opens to the street) and I only wish that they were open everyday. Alex, the Owner, is attentive, warm, and a joy to hang out with - he is a hoot! Highly, highly recommend.

We loved all the wines we tried here—unusual. Taking several home w us:) I tried to ask the vintner about Gruner Veltliner, which I tried along the Danube River, but couldn’t remember the name until I looked it up later:)

A wonderful experience tasting wines this weekend with Alex at his tasting room in Nevada City during the Wild and Scenic Film Festival. The wine was delectable, and Alex was so charming, visiting up and down the bar taking care of everyone and telling wine making stories.

Best wine in Nevada City, probably in Nevada County- not to mention great atmosphere, usually attended to by the winemaker himself! A real experience- dont miss it- it's a great view of the main street of beautiful historic downtown Nevada City as well.
