Wait service was pretty much non existent, the food is way too expensive and the portions are practically crumbs! The tables were not arranged well, too many people bumping into the back of my seat. Took at least an hour and a half after we were served to be asked if we are ok, or even bring our bill. Looked to me like the wait staff was only serving the big partys and pretty much ignoring us. I guess you gotta have bookoo bucks to actually enjoy this! Never gonna eat or hang out here again.

It’s a restaurant inside a hotel. The atmosphere is live and fun as there is live music and dance floor on Friday and Saturday nights. service is not acceptable.

The atmosphere and ambience is excellent. Service and food is extremely disappointing. The minute I grabbed the utinsils, there was a long black hair on the towel :(It didn’t really start well and it got worse from there. The breakfast “buffet” is full of store bought muffins and yogurt soy milk and the like. We went down to eat breakfast. Coffee was not fresh. When I asked the server to bring me fresh coffee, she started arguing. She grabbed my mug and sent another person with the same coffee mug with fresh coffee in it.

It was cool. I can't imagine staying in Newark for business when you have the luxury of Hayward 5 miles

Dining in the Bar was the right choice! Excellent service and conversation from the Bartender. He also provided great recommendations. I'll be back for more!

We went to Bistro 880 and purchased the NYE experience. Food was 80 percent seafood with a small salad bar and a roast beef station. Unfortunately, I am allergic to seafood and had the roast beef and salad bar. The dessert bar was amazing. In prior years, the bistro would offer coffee and dessert after midnight. This year, the dessert bar was closed early. As far as the entertainment, the performing band was Stompbox and they were excellent. There were a couple of unruly people on the dance floor and hotel security immediately addressed the issue. Not sure how they gained admittance since they were not seated at a table but rather hanging out at the bar. For a better NYE experience, the establishment should have strictly enforced admittance to those that paid for the NYE experience.

As part of a weekend date night getaway, we stayed at the Doubletree and visited the restaurant for dinner and entertainment. The restaurant is spacious yet cozy with great decor. It's the holiday season and I enjoyed the decorations and festive atmosphere. We had a few cocktails and I enjoyed the crabcakes and Caesar salad and he the pasta with steak. The whole meal was just delicious. I truly enjoy a Caesar when they top it with actual anchovies. Our waitress was the best. She was attentive and made sure everything was to our liking and kept checking in. It was a Saturday and there was a band playing. The crowd was lively but not overly so. We enjoyed hanging out people watching and enjoying live music. After we had our fill we headed back to our room. It's so nice to have this option for a late night outing with no worries of how to get back home.Parking: There is plenty of parking. You won't have to worry about not getting a spot.

Myself, mom and stepdad went to listen to this band Patron Latin Rhythms at Bistro 880 on Wednesday Nov. 22, 2023. Wow they were awesome and sounded spectacular! They played a medley of different songs. There wasn't a single song that wasn't liked. They had the dance floor jamming. As for the Bistro 880 it self. Our waitress was very accommodating, friendly and fun. She laughed with us and danced with us by our table. The establishment was clean, everyone was running like a well oiled machine. My complaints are, the bathroom only has 3 stalls for such a decent sized venue. Didn't realize you needed reservations, so we were lucky to get a table. The menu is very limited and basic for how the Bistro presented itself. The food is also basic and extremely over priced. My Bistro Club was $17-18 and had two thin slices of turkey meat, hella lettuce, a slice of cheese and tomato, which I did not request. The second part of the stacked club was just bread with lettuce nothing else. The mayo and mustard was on the side so that turned me off. I didn't bother using it because the sandwich would have fallen apart. So I ate a dry, lack luster sandwich. Any sandwich shop locally is tremendously better, meatier and cheaper. Which also comes with chips and a drink included and condiments inside the sandwich. So in conclusion, make reservations, eat before you go or bring a lot of money with you, expect to wait in a long line to use the bathroom. Other than that, you will have fun if the band is good. I give my entire first impression and experience 7/10.

Service was super slow and bad, even though there were very few customers. Food was only OK, a bit salty. The prime rib special was a great deal, though!

Food was better than expected. Ate ahi tacos as an entree even though offered as an appetizer. Friends had chicken, manicotti. All enjoyed. Drinks were strong, music was great, but service speed was very lacking.
